4 Meatball Subs And A Good Kicking Please.

Subway ban?

So you are in pre-season preparations and you want to build some brotherhood between all of your players. A little team building is needed, get em all on the same page.  Sounds like a good idea, but is it ever a good idea to take footballers clubbing?

Early Sunday morning, 4 York City players were arrested after Police were called to an incident at a Subway restaurant. Michael Rankine, Michael Gash, Craig Nelthorpe and Michael Ingham were all arrested for affray. The four players had spent the night ‘bonding’ at Gallery nightclub in the town before deciding on a foot long. They then decided to get into it with two fellas. Those fellas were both taken to hospital for treatment.

“They all had a bite to eat together, it was their night to let their hair down after working really hard during the pre-season,  Typically, at the end of the night there was an incident. It’s hard to comment as I haven’t got all the facts. It is all on CCTV so I’m going to wait to see what that brings to light. ” -York City manager Martin Foyle.

The subway two clearly got more than a foot-long, Rankine is 6ft 3 and Ingham 6ft 4. Gash must have made a wonderful impression on his new club. He signed for York City from Ebsfleet just last week.

No word yet if York will be banning trips to Subway. At least they will still have Kit Kats.

I wonder what kind of cheese they offer at Subways in England. A couple years back I stopped at a Subway somewhere in Saskatchewan. They asked what kind of cheese I wanted on my Cold Cut Trio. I said Provolone. They said, “We don’t have that. We have white, orange or shredded.”

So I started thinking…is the orange American cheese? And if it is, do they call it American cheese in Canada? But obviously not, because he referred to it as orange. And then is the white just white American cheese? And then the shredded…is that just the white and orange cheese shredded up? Or is it shredded cheddar? And is any of it real cheese? The questions were endless. I went with “White”.

    But I’m not a racist.

Is it just me, or is there no way to get follow up comments emailed to you, like one could with blogger? If so, just another bug that annoys the shit out of me, along with not being able to click back to the home page (yes I’m on Firefox — why aren’t you?), as well as letting Georger continue to post comments.

Oh, and one more comment that has nothing to do with York City, meatballs, or affray. I got the UF t-shirt on Friday, proudly wore it over the weekend. As soon as my wife saw it, she thought it looked like someone giving a white-power salute. So maybe I won’t wear it in public…

But then don’t I get EVERY comment posted from EVERY article? I mean, I have a lot of free time during the day, but not THAT much.
