Quasimodo and Ribery
The rumor mill is in full swing as reports that Roman Abrahmovic is personally heading to Germany to recruit future Disney star Franck Ribery. It will certainly be an interesting move as Ribery plays on the left wing and Chelsea recently acquired Yuri Zhirkov and earmarked him for that role, unless of course the Russian international is set to replace Ashley Cole in his favored left back position. The move would also be the kiss of death to Ancelotti’s new diamond formation. So how much will Ribery cost Roman? The Sun says 40 million pounds, an EPL record.
“We are still resolved to keep Ribery but Hoeness (Uri, Bayern general manager) agreed to meet with Abramovich in Germany to discuss any offer.”- A Bayern source.
Ah, the Sun and their ‘sources’. This move would not surprise me, nor would a bid from Manchester United. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Ribery has previously denied that he fancies a move to Chelsea, but as we all know, money talks and footballers are about as loyal as an international double-agent.
Transfer deadline day is Monday Aug 31st and The real life version of ‘the Hunchback of Notre Dame’ is due for release in the summer of 2016.

Yeah, there’s no way the diamond works when you have Zhirkov, Joe Cole, Malouda (sorry, he’s not a central middie) and Ribery on the books. Back to the modified 4-3-3, then… or maybe even a 4-1-3-2!
