Remember Her?

Donna Powell

Donna Powell

Anyone remember this chick? Donna Powell won some much needed cash for her club Fisher Athletic and got to manage the team for a night. Quite a controversial move that was criticized by the teams manager.

The turnstile operator took charge but couldn’t change the teams fortunes. They were on a 10 game losing streak at the time and that continued, she lost her game in charge. Well since then, Fisher Athletic has been wound up and gone bust. However, out of Fisher Athletic comes Fisher FC and Powell is now a coach. Well done girl!

“Last February, I was shocked to hear that Donna was the first to manage in the men’s game. There’s something wrong with the world if it took till 2009 for a small club like Fisher to lead the way. Powell possesses the right experience, qualifications and credentials to take on this role – Donna’s earned it plain and simple.”- Fisher FC spokesman Joe Arif.

Fisher FC are supporters owned and have a 1-2 record this season.

Brilliant. I hope she makes it.

I never really wanted to be a WAG, but I would’ve loved to be a manager.
    Stupid ambition :-(
