The Bootroom: Welcome Back La Liga

It's the boot room, but no booting in it.

It’s the boot room, but no booting in it.

European football is back to full strength this weekend as La Liga finally strolls onto the stage, fashionably late as always. This will be the first real look at Galacticos 2.0 and a Blaugrana Zlatan.

But, that may be overshadowed by the big matchup of the weekend as Arsenal take on at Old Trafford. The Gunners will be thoroughly looked over to see if the good start is for real. This will also be a stern test of the much less dynamic Manchester United team. Was the real team the one against Wigan in the second half or the one against Burnley? My gut says a two goal win for Arsenal, but that was before the Fabregas injury. So, now I’m on an Arsenal victory alone.

In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich has a chance to right the ship against defending champions Wolfsburg. The Bavarian giants have only two points from three matches and sit four back of the Wolfenstein. A loss will really cause a panic. It is unclear whether Real Madrid castoff Arjen Robben will be making an appearance in the match, but given the stakes it is hard to think he will not make at least a substitute appearance.

AC Milan and Inter will hit it off with an early derby for the defending champs and the big sellers. Inter appears to have reached a deal with another Real Madrid castoff, Wesley Sneijder, but it’s unlikely he will feature this weekend.

Norwich City will be traveling to Hartlepool United (the Monkey Hangers). If you want Ned to make it through the weekend, pray for a Canary victory.

As always, join us in the comments as we watch another spate of weekend footy action.
