@Phil: I’m unfamiliar with this “Liquid Swrods” of which you speak. I keed, I keed. I was at a GZA show last August in Seattle where he performed Liquid Swords all the way through, in song order.

@ ef: completely agree. Fantastic music back then. Wu-Tang solo project that too many people have forgotten about: GZA’s Liquid Swrods, which contained maybe the greatest Method Man verse ever.

@Umlaut: I will add the “1997″ caveat, because you’re right. Late-90s rap remains my favorite era of music: “It Was Written,” “Reasonable Doubt,” “The War Report,” and “Uptown Saturday Night” all released in a two year period? Please. Absolutely phenomenal.

I’m also looking forward to The Black Keys new rap project. And Arsenal winning the league.

Since I’m a few Bush Blacks deep, I’ll treat Backpasses as an open forum.

First order of business: I can’t believe I’m buying a new Raekwon AND new Ghostface album in the same year.

Second order of business: Lorrie Fair plays for Chelsea, hence I’ve lost all interest in her.
