Award Time!

A smoking hot September for Torres, will October be as good? We will find out at Chelsea on Sunday.

A smoking hot September for Torres, will October be as good? We will find out at Chelsea on Sunday.

September’s awards were handed out today and are we really surprised to hear that Sir Alex Ferguson is manager of the month and Fernando Torres is player of the month? Nope, not really.

The former has bagged the monthly accolade no less than 24 times as Man United currently sit at the top of the EPL with 18 points and a GD of + 11, one goal above Chelsea.

Torres had a super September, scoring 5 goals, helping Liverpool to lead the table in EPL goals scored this term. Alas Liverpool, finding the net 6 times against Hull City does not gain you any extra points, but a thumbs up from Ned for entertainment.

The Football League will announce its September winners tomorrow. Nominations for Colaship manager include Chris Hughton (Newcastle), Ian Holloway (Blackpool) and former bin-man, Jim Magilton (QPR). In League One, Simon Grayson is favorite to bag the manager award as his Leeds team are sitting pretty at the top, unbeaten with 8 wins and 2 draws. Full Football League Manager nominations here.

My beloved Norwich City have a horse in the September race also.  Grant ‘Horse’ Holt (my hero) is up for League One player of the month. Horse has scored 7 goals this term and been nothing but outstanding for the super Canaries.  Full Football League player nominations here.

If Torres scores four more times in his next 15 league games he’ll break the club record for fastest to 50 league goals.

46 in 64 is solid for a guy who the majority of fans did not want because his strike rate in Spain wasn’t outstanding and Darren Bent was proven in the EPL.

I was not one of them.

Because the shadow behind the ball is being cast by his wang (el wango, en espanol).

So, Vieira is bitching about playing time at Inter. I’m too lazy to research this, but everything I remember reading said Jose told him he didn’t have a set place in the team, and to feel free to look elsewhere. So, Patrick, what did you take that to mean? Seriously? Your manager tells you that, and then you’re unhappy you aren’t playing more? I have no idea if this is bad reporting or stupid f**king player ego, but, dude, you’re 34 and want playing time at a team desperate to win the CL? And its not like you were indispensible LAST year…wtf?
