Punishment enough?

Who is this guy and what is he holding?

idjit

That’s the former Frazer Boyle and he is holding his official notice of name change.  That 20 year-old’s new name is now Mr. Motherwell Football Club.

Oh my.

Mr. Club is said to have been mad for the club since attending his first match 11 years ago.  That magical 1998 season, the 62nd anniversary of the club’s only top flight championship, Motherwell finished 9th.  Ever since, Club has been a fixture at the club’s home matches.  So, he plonked down 33 quid and made the change.

His immediate family did not take it well, but does have good perspective on the idiocy.  As his mother said, in reaction to the change, “[h]e is Motherwell daft and has already been to France and Wales in the past year to watch them; I think that is punishment enough.”  Truer words might never have been spoken.

Now, let the debate begin.  Which is the more embarrassing life-altering change with regards to a sports team: bad tattoo or name change?

The guy who changed his name to Portsmouth Football Club is at least recognisable.

I’ve wanted to get Arsenal’s crest on my shoulder……but stopped liking the thought of that slowly but surely over the last year or so

His mother should be thankful he doesn’t support Queen of the South.

The problem with Scotland is that it’s full of Scots.

“If we can’t get them out, we’ll breed them out.”

  7. I kind of like Motherwell’s kit, though.
