UF Screening Winner

Michael Sheen as Brian Clough in The Damned United
Michael Sheen as Brian Clough in The Damned United

OK, we have a winner! Sound the buzzer, ring the bell.

We asked you to email and tell us, in just 15 words, why you want to come to the UF Screening of  ‘The Damned United’ and our exclusive  after party.

Check your in-boxes folks, invites are on the way. The best entry was from ‘Goat’. I sympathized greatly with his 15 words,  as the father of 2 toddlers I am delighted to grant him a piss-up pass to party like Steven Gerrard does  when ’Sussudio’ hits the juke-box.  Once the second nipper comes along, the party is O.V.E.R!  Well done Goat. See you next Thursday!

Goats entry:  Baby number two on the way –  last chance to skip town and get horribly drunk.

The “horribly” is what sells it. Well done.

  • Georger says:

    The Browns suck.

  • The Fan's Attic says:

Why do you hate the hispanics Georger?

  • Georger says:

They know good and goddamn well what they did.

  • ü75 says:

You know what also sucks? USA U-20’s finishing.

  • Georger says:

I take it we’re losing to the “good” Koreans?

  • Goat says:

I’m truly honored. So much so that I’ll even ignore Georger’s Browns crack. Even though Pittsburgh has almost as bad a record as the Browns. And they’re a bunch of ignorant inbreds. Oh well, I guess I’m not ignoring it.

Anyway, despite the major award that’s been bestowed upon me, I have a slight problem–I’m an idiot. As you can imagine that leads to a whole host of other problems but my idiocy, in this particular case, has led to the possibility of me not being able to make it to NYC on the 8th. You see, I assumed that the movie premier would be on a Saturday. Maybe you fancy pants New York types go to these sorts of things every other week and know how they work, but me being a simple Midwesterner currently living in Jesusland, VA, I have no knowledge of such things. The problem is that while I have Thursday off, I have to teach on Friday and don’t relish the possibility of having to make the 7 or so hour drive home in the wee hours of Friday morning to make my 10:00 class (hopefully still drunk). I’ll see what I can do about getting someone to cover my classes, though.

    Thanks again, I’m truly humbled.

Good luck Goat. Hope you can pull it off.
