Saturday’s action got off to an early start, as you no doubt know, in Japan. Scotland made the L-O-N-G trip with a mostly second-choice squad and lost 2-0 to their hosts. Scotland defender Christophe Berra was the goat, knocking in Yuichi Kimano’s low cross in the 83rd minute. Japan finished the game with another score late in injury time by Keisuke Honda.
But, let’s face it, that game was one of the day’s least important ones. Lots of World Cup qualifying action today, though some big ones cannot be seen on terrestrial TV in their home countries. England and USA fans will not be able to see their team in action in road games today, at least not on their home TVs. England fans have the option to pay to watch online, while US fans have to find a bar getting a closed-circuit feed. Welcome to the 21st century folks!

That was beautiful! Honestly, that was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. A Casey brace, a terrible penalty miss. So pumped, that was pretty damn cool.
As a side note, the announcer I found for the 2nd half was awful at pronouncing names. Palacios was “Pal-e-ah-kos”
Feilhaber was alternately “Falaber” or “Felber”
Cherundolo was “Cherndolo”.
