Where Real Football Lives
Well hello dere! I know, I haven’t been around these parts much lately. But phew, thank goodness I’m back now that boring thrilling international football is over. It means that we can finally get back to the real business of club football. After counting all the injuries that players have picked up during the past couple weeks, of course. Or in the case of Wilson Palacios, the government-mandated partying.
There’s also some a few good matches on the Continent this weekend. My picks are Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen, who are tied at the top of the Budesliga, and then Valencia vs Barcelona.
As always, today’s schedule is after the jump, along with your comments.

F**K ADEBAYOR!
Wonderful counter by the Gunners. 4 against 3, Arshavin was cool with the finish. It must be the mittens.
carragher looks like an old man running out there.
Do the announcers loud more than a little disappointed that Arsenal scored?
“sound” not “loud”
Nice give and go Diaby. Shouldve went.
Wilshire for Eboue…
Hahahahahaha seven minutes of injury time.
7 mins of stoppage time at Sunderland… that’s 4 mins of Old Trafford time for you Red Devils
2-1 United. Final.
PULL THE TRIGGER MAN
“Set piece specialist” Aurelio continues to not be able to get a corner past the first defender.
Where the f**k was this pressure the rest of the game?
FT at Emirates 3-1 Arsenal
Nice three points today for the Good Guys.
So I think it’s time to classify the Rafalution as the Bay of Pigs of soccer revolutions.
Today at Fratton Park: Everyone Gets a Red Card!
And a preemptive apology to JT for all the negativity.
But if you can take positives from this season, you’re a better man than I.
five wins, four losses. given three teams famous wins now, we used to be in the business of getting famous wins, not blundering to famous losses.
Horrible.
that was a third successive ugly performance by Liverpool. Rafa has lost the team.
So, who’s Castro?
to be fair Georger…Liverpool has blundered to a fair amount famous losses and draws in the past few seasons.
And it’s not even so much the result, AGAIN, just the stunning reality of how poor our depth is.
Still.
Even after every summer when Rafa says we need more depth. And width.
And we don’t have it.
Genius.
The BBC found the guy who threw the balloon on the field
I like whatever kit Newcastle is wearing (3rd? replacement for the banana deck chair ones?). The light blue and black stripes look great, but I don’t see much utility for them, since they essentially duplicate their normal kit…
@jjf3:
Yeah, its their 3rd kit. Theyve actually played well in the Fruit Stripe gum kits so far.
However…they’ve looked like crap today so far.
