Because crime isn’t a problem in South Africa, the German national team isn’t going to use armed escorts or have their players sport bullet-proof vests when out in public and away from the safety of their hotel during next summer’s World Cup.
Oh wait. That’s the exact opposite of what they are considering. And that’s assuming they can get the security detail to work in South Africa as the Bloomberg story notes: “Group 4 Securicor Chief Executive Officer Nick Buckles said in May that his organization would not work at the World Cup as it regards South Africa as the most dangerous country in the world.”
The only German not worried? Michael Ballack. He’s certain he’d be the second guy shot at anyway.

which implies SA is more dangerous than say…I don’t know…Iraq. Or Afghanistan. Or Detroit. Shocking.
my sentiments exactly, whizalen.
let’s fund a field trip for Herr Buckles (really? that’s your name tough security guy?) to the greater Oakland area.
Is this where I make a joke re: German armed security in other countries?
*cheap joke
