Jozy Has Been a Real Twit Today

Jozy Altidore is not even on the bench for Hull today and his twitter account told a story of its own. The tweet revealing his absence has now been removed but indicated that Jozy was late for the game for some reason. Phil Brown was clearly not happy.

Apologize to the all of you. I showed up late. Made a big mistake I’m very very sorry.

The tweet was timed at eighteen mins past two. Forty two mins from kick-off. Altidore didn’t sleep in, I know he was up because he sent this tweet 4 hours ago….

JozyAltidore17 Good morning everyone! Hull City fans bring the noise today we are going to need your help. Big day for us.

Being late for Hull’s game is really a stupid thing to do, especially when you get paid as much as Jozy does and has ONE thing to get right all week…Show up on time. Still, I hope Phil Brown isn’t too tough on the kid. He comes across as a grounded, well rounded young man and I’m sure he is feeling pretty bad about his mistake. Not to mention that this has done his chances of breaking into the first team some serious damage.

Must have not wanted to be a part of this week’s EPL edition of the Chiefs v Rams.

    Scoreless draw thus far? SHOCKER!

I saw his tweet this morning and immediately got annoyed. I’m a big fan of the kid…I want him to do well…want him to get the games he needs to be the best for the US. Hope he has a really good explanation for why he was late.

Sheesh, Freddy getting dropped yesterday for a bad attitude, Jozy dropped today for being late. You know who’s never late? Conor Casey, that’s who.

I never thought that there would be too many strikers at Hull City. Shit.

Is it too early to be worried about the upcoming embarrassment in South Africa? Jozy not playing yet (hopefully forces his way in), Davies out, Onyewu probably out. Bob Bradley in. All bad things.

Am I the only one who thinks Gooch is very overrated? I mean he cost us the Ghana game for fucks sake.

I’d rather see Demerit than Gooch, so I agree. But then there is no cover. Who else would play center back? Spector?

  9. On October 24, 2009 @ 11:31 Ryan says:

Goodson isn’t a terrible option at CB, Chad Marshall was MLS defender of the year last year, for whatever that’s worth.

  10. On October 24, 2009 @ 11:32 Georger says:

Demerit is captaining a team in England and Gooch can’t hold a job, but because one of them has a cool nickname, he’s the fan favorite, baffling.

Though Demerit just HAD A FUCKING CORNEA REPLACED, I still don’t get how that works.

@Georger, he cut his eye putting in a contact lens. He is out for quite a while.

Yeah, I mean I don’t get how they replace it, I mean isn’t that part of the eyeball? This is some Blade Runner shit.

Edgar Davids googles for the man from Green Bay. Badass.

Okay, well I’d like to see more of Spector at RB or even LB. His crossing in the Confederations Cup were quite dangerous.

Anyone think Dempsey should play up front with Jozy? That way someone like Torres or Jones can have the extra midfield slot. Plus, Dempsey looks more interested when he’s up there for the US.

Steve Sidwell single handedly cost me like 10 fantasy points. Thanks, crappy douche. You know you fucked up that tackle when your teammates just look at you and shake their heads. Come on MON, bring back Reo!

And Spurs…wow. We have got to stop dropping points against crappy teams, especially if we are going to lay down against the Top 4.
