Don't forget to turn the gas off.
The Fan’s Attic here. I haven’t been around much this week due to work obligations, which included a deposition where the deponent insisted that propane was included in the phrase “power and water.” It took a few questions but he finally realized that propane was not power and he reluctanctly accepted propane was not water. As a Liverpool fan I am like the deponent this past week where Liverpool is propane and power and water equates to functional and winning. The Reds are neither this year.
Thanks to a rash of injuries, the sale of Xabi Alonso, the team’s incapability to act as a cohesive unit, a lack of funds and the Manager’s stubborn streak Liverpool’s season is all but over already. Only nine weeks into the season. They are nine points off of league leaders Chelsea and have only three points from three matches in Champions League play. They face currently second place Manchester United today and the fierce rivals could start shoveling dirt on Liverpool’s coffin with a win.
I’m not ready to say propane is not power or water yet, but give me some time and I’m sure I will realize the error of my ways.

what a s**tshow
F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K!!!!!
That deflated my afternoon completely. Arshavin was noonexistent. Cesc was brilliant at times, but his support was s**t. We get too complacent in the back and let in s**tty goals from s**tty players.
wow…great match for west ham. not so great second half for gunners. oh well. liverpool won…i’m happy.
Huh… still in third on Goal Diff… but we needed that win to be within Chelski with our game in hand. This game felt so much like all of last season, control the game, give it away at the end.
@ebullientfatalist: I wouldn’t say Carlton Cole is a s**tty player. He probably deserved a goal today. And the penalty was just stupid. Song is a moron for doing that. Cole had nowhere to go in the box and he just pushed him over.
I’m beyond disgusted right now. F**king disgraceful from Arsenal today. Exactly what we didn’t need going into the match against Spurs.
@hockalees: This entire week has felt like this. They started to lose it towards the end of the Birmingham game at the end of last week. We need to get our s**t together quick before the Scum come to the Emirates next Saturday.
thoughts on the game:
1. mannone gave them a goal
2. the ref gave them a goal
3. scott parker should’ve had 3 yellows, one for simulation
4. arsenal didn’t play that bad at all
5. this ref may be howard webb in disguise
@jgaugust
Correction: We need to get our shot togther for the CC game against Liverpool on Wed.
After watching Arsenal throw away a win, I feel much better about myself.
@hockalees: good point. I forgot about the CC game, but that said, it’s not like we are going to be playing our starters. We just need to start killing teams off. We needed a 3rd goal and there wasn’t anything doing offensively in the 2nd half. That was probably the worst half I’ve seen us play simply because we didn’t have any creativity, West Ham had the possession for 55-60% of that half and we allowed way too much pressure in the box. Just not a good half and a poor game after phenomenal results earlier today to basically get us level with Chelsea had we won our games in hand.
nice wacman, so Arsenal were totally not to blame for today’s draw then?
when it came to the goals, I have to say no, aside from Mannone. The first goal was all his fault. The second goal was nothing though.
Diamanti came on and was amazing, but after a first half of Cole playing super target man for 75 min, i find it to be appalling that he falls over so easy in the box and the ref buys it, especially after not buying Parker’s swan dive.
WHOO-HOO! I was on a wife-coerced church retreat this weekend and just finished the Liverpool-Man United game. Suck it, Owen!
Barca game live on ESPN2 right now. Nice surprise, isn’t it like six in the morning there?
Milan losing again. Shocking considering Ronaldhino in the most talented player in the world.
@Georger:
Yes, it’s 6 am there. Since Barcelona is in Australia/Indonesia, these days.
Think they can give me tonight’s winning lottery numbers?
Messi is too f**king good, would have been a hell of a highlight real goal if Zlatan wasn’t three yards offside.
And Zlatan gets one that counts! Iniesta shirked three guys to set it up.
I was wrong about Zlatan, he actually is playing like he cares now.
Oh s**t this is the team Pennant is playing for now. Making one hell of a case for his “I should be starting for England” campaign.
Speak of the devil, Pennant subbed off sixty minutes in.
My prediction: Jermaine Pennant will pull it back for Zaragoza in the last 30.
Well, until the manager just gave the game away there with the substitution.
@Georger: Pennant had a couple of clumsy touches in Barca territory earlier in the first half. That qualifies him for an England national team spot, no?
Clinical finishing for Zaragoza there.
Erwin Chemerinsky plays for this team?
These jerseys are going Demerit on my eyeballs.
Tharagotha’s president should put a bag on his head up on the tribune of honor. Just for the lulz.
BALLSACK Nesta leveled for Milan.
Still, they suck.
Still not quite sure where people think Mascherano fits into this team.
They look like they’re playing a video game out there, ridiculous.
Chievo have some absurd jerseys, they adopted the Vancouver Grizzlies method of putting a logo low on the jersey for some reason.
No hattie for Zlatan. No goals for Messi. Barca panic.
Dida just made a balls out save in stoppage time, holy s**t.
Nesta with a thundering header to take the lead, wow.
Robert Downey Jr is reffing the MeeeeLAN game.
Messi’s back. All is right with the world.
Son of a bitch I missed two goals!
HATTIE!
Is there a reason ESPN has that spelled “goles?”
Zlatin is envious.
Pep is pimpin’ with the vest.
Yeah, they’re using a Spanish feed. All the graphics are in Spanish.
Oh right it’s the univision feed or some s**t right?
First time I had seen an actual word on the screen.
How did that guy not score? Aside from “he plays for Zaragoza?”
Barca hoodoo?
1 minute of stoppage time. The referee has indicated that more would be cruel and unusual punishment of Tharagotha.
I do not dig the post-match Disney-esque song at the Camp Nou, though. What is up with that?
