Elizabeth Lambert, will you marry us?

elambert

Lambert

Women’s College Soccer doesn’t get a lot of publicity, well, anywhere.  Especially not the conference tournament semifinal of the Mountain West Conference (apologies to all international readers; it’s complicated).  But, when a one-woman wrecking crew like Elizabeth Lambert is involved, even ESPN has to pay attention.

If you watch the endless SportsCenters in the morning, you may have already caught this.  If you haven’t, then prepare to be amazed.  But watch out, there’s Julie Foudy analysis ahead.

Wow.  I know I speak for at least one other UFer when I say we are in love.  Elizabeth Lambert is a dirty, dirty girl, and I like it.

Sure, this video begs some questions.  Like the big one–how did she not get sent off?  But who cares?  As long as you are not a Mormon, surely you can take in the rough beauty that a girl like Lambert brings to the beautiful game.

And here I thought the ponytail yank was my signature move.

  2. I am definitely a fan of the elbow to the sternum.

  3. James T

I’m already prepping a marriage request, involving a pair of boxing gloves, a helmet, a live grenade and a Sherman Tank. My kind of woman!

  4. Georger

Best part: she doesn’t take her eyes off the play during the entire hair pulling sequence. Awareness, she’s got it.

  5. sven

Well, I’m marking next season’s BYU-NM match on my calendar.

    Ladies…

  6. whizalen

wow. as much as I detest her actions – esp the whiplash inducing hair pull – i have to admit: i’m turned on

I believe the sage Jerry Seinfeld had something to say about catfights once, and why men love them. But I can’t find video, so I’ll let you do your best to poorly remember the episode yourself.

  8. Georger

Because men think if women are grabbing and clawing at each other there’s a chance they might somehow kiss.

  9. Fan-f**king-tastic. Bonus: the blonde that elbows the sternum is equally hot.

  10. Clemantona

I’m glad you’re all focusing your attention on Grabby Mctacklingbackpunchingballkickingface so I can swoop in for the beautiful brunette victim

    Hokies win by 13!

  12. Precious Roy

Bet she got a phone call from Alex McLeish this morning.

  13. I have to admit I have done all of those things featured in the video save for the hair-pulling at one time or another in game. Although, I have never done all of them in one game.

I am not a proud man.

  14. Georger

@Clemantona: Have fun with the magic underpants.

  15. Clemantona

    mmmm mormony

  16. Georger

I bet she tastes like burning, of your soul in eternal hellfire.

  17. are mormon girls like catholic girls?

  18. Clemantona

All I’m saying is that God gave Moses some stone tablets then he gave Joseph Smith some gold plates

you tell me which one God liked more

  19. Precious Roy

    Moses was Catholic?

  20. Georger

    He was a Unitarian.

  21. Steve

ain’t nothing like religion jokes on UF to brighten a guy’s morning of busy work.

  22. phil

I’m pretty sure Moses was Bokonist.

  23. I think Elizabeth Lambert just slide tackled the video.

  24. Precious Roy

Nope. All is restored and right with the world.

  25. Goat

I like that the BYU goal scorer is named C. Payne.

  26. Ryan

Kudos to the mormons for never staging a fight back and just taking their beating. We may have found a new religion of peace

  27. Keith

She’d fit in well at Serie A.

  28. Jape

Nice headline on this post ü75.

  29. Sarah

Only if she’s equally as good at feigning injury as she is inflicting it, Keith.

  30. Ryan

And now she’s been suspended indefinitely. http://www.golobos.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/110609aaa.html
Look for CAS to overturn this early next week.

  31. James T

I did think the brunette was faking the extent of her injuries a little. Note how she gets slung to the ground, takes a moment to peek through her fingers to see if the foul had been noticed before covering up her face again and waiting for the ref to get involved. You can’t teach intangibles like that.

  32. James T

Aww, c’mon, Lobos! You don’t suspend her! Without her, no-one knows your team/university exists! Any PR is good PR!

  33. Clemantona

Los Lobos kick your ass! Los Lobos kick your face! Los Lobos kick your balls into outer space!

This post was mentioned on Twitter by UFdotcom: She’s a very dirty girl (the kind you don’t take home to Mother) and she’s our newest crush..

DANG!!! This chick is bad! Marry me!

  36. luis

    Is Lambert an Argentinian surname?

  37. Oyeoro

Seriously, I watched it a work at least 4 times. I think her play was dirty, but she got away with it. So more power to her. She was on top of the action (literally at on point) and breaking up play.

Sometimes you gotta slow that game do to a crawl to give your team a chance. Linesmen and center ref should have their eyes checked.

  38. [...] var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-5316986-2");pageTracker._trackPageview();Lambert makes Patrick Viera and Roy Keane look like choir boys compared to herGot this video above from a buddy in my inbox this morning, “BYU # 21 is a babe.”But that really isn’t what we should be focused on at all. It’s the crazy, violent play of Elizabeth Lambert that may catch your eye… A barrage of blindsides and cheapshots – including the mandatory “pony-tail pull” as well as a few nice elbows to the mid-section.Vinnie Jones, eat your heart out. Absolutely brilliant stuff, this. Really brilliant. And crazy.[Radar Online, and also Unprofessional Foul] [...]
