Unpaid taxes at Notts County. Is Anyone Really Surprised?

Maybe They Can Raise Money Selling the Pigeons

Maybe They Can Raise Money Selling the Pigeons

Despite the residency of Svengali Eriksson, and despite all the promises of money, fame, success and Sol Campbell made by shadowy ownership group Qadbak, there is still tumult at Meadow Lane, as their UK parent company, Blenheim 1862, faces a winding-up order for over 2 years’ worth of unpaid taxes.

The entire story is confusing: basically, when the club was sold to British Virgin Islands-based Qadbak, some shares and loans were written off and Qadbak owns the club through another company, Munto Finance, who in turn hold ownership of Blenheim 1862. I’m guessing someone didn’t do the paperwork correctly, and ergo, Notts County have to pay up.

Sources close to the club say the money is definitely there to settle things, but it’s yet more egg on the face of chairman Peter Trembling, a man desperately trying to short-cut his club to success.

Of course, it’s purely coincidental that the two sole directors of Blenheim 1826 are Trembling and Glenn Rolley, the chairman of the Supporters’ Trust and man who wrote off the shares/loans, isn’t it?
