Germany Cancels Friendly

In the wake of keeper Robert Enke’s death, Germany has canceled its friendly against Chile this weekend.

Additionally, police have confirmed that Enke left a suicide note. Enke’s wife made it public that he had been battling depression since 2003; and that he was worried their adopted daughter might be taken away if the illness became public knowledge.

The 32-year-old Enke died yesterday when he stepped in front of a train travelling at 160 kph as it passed through a crossing near Hanover. His car was found parked nearby.
