I would agree with that statement, but to tie the Freedom’s ad to the MLS I think is baloney (and would give the Freedom too much credit). Those in the DC area can attest to the absurdities coming out of the Redskins right now — banning signs, blaming all their issues on the press, etc.

To sum up, screw the Redskins.

Dan-While I saw the first comment in the WSC piece and have no reason to doubt its veracity, the knee-jerk tendencies of MLS (And US Soccer) responding to criticism in general are correct.

I think livejournal comments are programmed out of the box to be absurd.

And as for the MLS sensitive to criticism article, it’s touched on in the comments but that Washington Freedom ad is 100% poking fun at the Redskins, and has nothing to do with MLS.

Wow most of the people over there are taking the “it’s the law, obey it or get out” approach. Didn’t realize we weren’t allowed to criticize other country’s policies all of a sudden, guess the Germans were just seventy years ahead of the curve.
