West Ham center back,Callum Davenport is back in light training after the knife attack that left him facing an operation, threatening his career. The attack by his sisters boyfriend, Worrell Whitehurst, took place during a row back in August outside his mothers home in Luton. She was also injured.

Whitehurst is facing prison for his actions after leaving the West Ham player with a 15 inch scar on his leg.  Davenport himself is charged with assaulting his sister during the same incident, an action he denies. Man, I’m glad I like my family, this sounds like a real mess.

West Ham will be delighted to have Davenport back as they are about to lose one professional footballer today. No surprise really but Dean Ashton will call time on his career after years of ankle issues. The former Crewe trainee left Norwich for the Hammers for over 7 million in 2006 and broke his ankle under a year later, training with England. He recovered from the injury to make 35 appearances for the Hammers, scoring 11 goals before breaking down again. The forward is likely to try and claim some compensation from the FA for the injury which now means he cannot turn or twist his foot.

I’m very sad for Deano. Effin Shaun Wright-Phillips. Your adopted dad was a hammer for a while and you go and do that…

Not fazed by it. I should be but was angry when Deano left, not because he did but how he did it, even demanding money from us after ordering a move after signing a 3 year deal. Had his agent, who is his uncle, chase us for money in a contract clause after HE wanted out and we didn’t want to sell.
