Ok, first, I don’t see the raking it with his lead foot at all. Yes, his trailing foot caught him.

Nonetheless, I think his point remains perfectly valid: “I have never gone into a tackle to hurt anyone in my entire life and Van Persie said the same thing. If you look at the footage it’s clear it was not a nasty challenge.”

So the “I didn’t hurt Van Persie” = “I didn’t intentionally hurt Van Persie” / it was a freak accident/clean tackle.

Actually, watching it again, Chiellini gets RvP on the right ankle with both feet. First he rakes it with his lead foot before getting the ball, then cleans up with his trailing foot.
