Gibbs has a broken foot. Arsenal are now properly screwed ahead of their weekend match with Spartak London. And Wenger is understandably upset with a ref who all but let Liege butcher the Arse. His comments to that extent aren’t so thinly veiled anyway.
Expect a jeremiad on this, and Arsenal’s November in general, tomorrow.

At least Eboue’s junk is okay after last weeks mishap-cum-goal.

I’m going to put together a template in order to save Arsenal fans some time, given that we hear the same thing from them every time a team plays a remotely physical game against them.
” _____ is a disgrace to the refereeing profession. ____ had the audacity to attempt a tackle on _____. Don’t they realize that _____ is an artiste? He needs a protective environment for his skills to truly blossom. ______ is a team full of malicious thugs who don’t deserve to play on the same pitch as the Arsenal.”
I confess that I did not see the Liege game, but it gets old listening to Wenger complain. Arsenal used to build their entire team identity around the concept of physical defense. Now it offends their delicate sensibilities.
Well, just saw where Gibbs got his foot broken. Second minute of added time in the second half. Studs up challenge at the top of the box about 10 feet from the ref. No call, so therefore no foul, right?
I thought that “injuries were part of the game” and Arsene had assembled a team deep enough to deal with injuries and still be in the top two. Is that not the case?
In the last few games, we’ve lost two left backs and one center back to go with two center-forwards. It’s not that we have a huge amount of injuries, though we’ve had our share, but that they’re concentrated in two positions.
