Quick Throw: Whitecaps keep name for MLS

The Vancouver Whitecaps management has announced that the Vancouver  MLS team scheduled to start play in 2011 will keep the old NASL/USL name Whitecaps for the club.

The Whitecaps are also a part of the rebel forces creating the new NASL from the USL separatists.  The team will only be a part of the league for one season, but maybe there is something to this NASL revival.

The separatists are the ones who are trying to separate so you got that wrong.

    >The team will only be a part of the league for one season

And Montreal will only be part of the league for two season.
That makes this joke of a league an even bigger sham.

Isnt there a soccer federation in the US?
How does FIFA not tell them to get their stuff in order or threathen them like they do other countries?

If a country passes a law (by their elected leaders) taht FIFA doesnt like, they will suspend the national team.
Right now the US federation is sitting on the sidelines and FIFA should tell them to put their pants on and do their job. Be a real federation. I know the concept of sports federations are unknown to the US where leagues live in cocooned environments and answer to no national or international federation but imagine that this leagues BS was going on in….any other country, this wouldnt fly.

If the revolting owners dont agree to the federations rule, they would not be recognized by either the federation or FIFA and no quality player would risk playing for an independant outlaw league.
