Before we get going on today’s matches, here is Rattle-and-Hum-era, pre-ironic, pretentious Bono with a special message, decrying the injustice that he and his Irish brethren continue to suffer at the hands of the powers that be…
“Are you hearing me, Sepp Blatter? We will not stand by this injustice!!!”
Right, where was I? Sunday’s fixtures! They’re after the hop, along with your comments. And yes, FSC really is showing a Hyundai Australian League match at 3:00 a.m. EST. Who knew?? But I’m guessing no one was awake for that.
Feel free to discuss today’s games, yesterday’s games, the weather, your Sunday errands, Bono, Sepp Blatter, or anything else that’s on your mind. Wipe your tears aaaaway!
(All times EST as usual, because we are elitist East Coast liberals)

That would have been spectacular.
I never want to see Crouch in a Spurs shirt again.
Pretty clearly offside, that.
CAHILL ON A BITCH WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
goddammit.
F**k me.
damn, I hate that t**t. Tim Cahill is a pox on society
Not even close to being offside Phil, sorry.
terrible defending
Cahill was off when it was played to him. That doesn’t excuse Bale’s complete inability to close down the back side, though.
I just told my gf that the game was over in the 70th……wrong
Crouch and Bale have completely crocked this match for Spurs. F**k them off in January, ‘Arry.
Embarrassing. Gareth Bale, hie thee to the bench and return only in FA Cup matches.
No, Tottenham’s heads are not spinning. They’re too far up their own asses for that.
Soft, soft, penalty.
PENALTY!
PENALTY!
No way Georger, that’s a hockey check.
wow, what a foul by Hibbert for the PK
Georger, bulls**t. That was a penalty, no question.
Considering the felony assualts Everton got away with in the first half, I’ll take it. That said, incredibly soft PK.
palacios needs a swimsuit…..he went in the box with teh purpose to dive
as a Gunner who will hate to see Spurs win and move back into 3rd, there is absolutely no doubt that was a penno
i mean, granted, he got hit…..but he didn’t look to be trying to play the ball at all
Crouch determined to make me look like an a**hole.
Wacman, he headed the ball on and then got body-checked. Hibbert just went straight for Palacios’ body.
I agree, wacman. Wilson was looking for contact and was a bit out of control.
come on Defoe
TIMMAY!
IN YOUR F**KING FACE SPACE COYOTE
jesus.
TIMMAY!
Ah yes the ole “straight down the middle” method.
pick a f**king corner, man.
This is a fitting prelude to Timmay turning into a sieve during the WC. Football hates me.
Why is the announcer confused about there being more than four minutes?
f**king f**kity f**k me. unf**kingbelievable. we just gifted away 2 points. GAH.
After the s**tshow we’ve put on today, the draw is the deserved result.
This awful result is Crouch’s fault. Fluffs chances all game long, including a glorious effort from 12 yards out that would have made the score 3-0. He misses, predictably, and then Everton come back.
More worrying for me is that two Englishmen who will feature next summer both missed a PK. Yikes
Pathetic. I hope ‘Arry does take Christmas away from them.
@ JT: Bale shares some of it, too, JT. His s**te defending led to both Everton goals. But Crouch was horrid. Really, really bad.
Yes, Crouch, and yes, Bale.
But Defoe has got to do better than that on the PK.
“Incredible second half at Goodison, and the Everton fans are chanting “U S A, U S A” as Tim Howard celebrates salvaging his side a point.”
Georger, HA. Let’s hope they keep chanting that s**t this summer.
I Heart Timmay!
Just got home from church. Timmy’s save was awesome.
Anyone read the ESPN recap on Fulham-Sunderland. They spend numerous lines discussing Dempsey and how Capello needs to be worried about his “shoot-on-sight” mentality. The sad thing is that he is actually a good passer when he wants to be.
Oh, and Anonsters, your Tide are going to slaughter Texas. My Aggies ripped them to shreds on Thanksgiving night — too bad our defense is the worst in the nation.
Best of luck though, I can’t wait for these bandwagon Longhorn fans (btw, I live in Austin now) to get their butts handed to them.
Bryan College Station is a dreadful, dreadful place.
@PR. That’s my hometown! Seriously.
Have to ask, why were you there? Game?
The town does suck, but A&M actually is a really fun place to go to school. But I did leave as soon as I graduated.
I’m from Austin… been to a couple of UT v A&M games.
TIMMAY!
I love his little tics when he gets excited and doesn’t have to concentrate the Tourette’s away.
Speaking of College Station, the weather has been absolutely horrible for the Women’s College Cup. UNC lead the final 1-0 in the 32nd over Stanford. Stanford’s girls are cuter, though, so I am cheering for them.
G-d, I love watching footy in HD. That is all…
And a 16-yo gives Bilbao the lead over Valencia
And Villa promptly levels for Valencia
From what I hear, Muniain is supposed to be the next big thing in Spain. Good finish on that goal.
Matheiu hits a screamer, Valencia up 2-1
This game has turned into a barn-burner. Bilbao gets a brilliant header, but is offside…
Soft, soft PK for Bilbao, but the PK is hammerred off the post.
I may complain about EPL refs, but they’ve got nothing on this guy in Spain. Lazy, frequently out of position, poor decisions, and likes the sound of his whistle…
Bono was already pretentious here, btw.
