Headbutts for all!
Aside from violence on the pitch between players, donnybrooks in the stands between supporters, and clashes between players and supporters, it appears that fisticuffs are now erupting between players and their managers. After a Monday 3-1 loss to Watford at Vicarage Road, things got slightly heated between QPR gaffer Jim Magilton and midfielder Akos Buzsaky. Although it has been described as a simple “difference of opinion” the club feels that it merits further investigation and has suspended Magilton. Reports that Buzsaky has handed in a transfer request have been denied, but it should be noted that he spent most of his time post-match wandering around in full kit on the pitch and near journalists (presumably because he wanted to avoid Magilton), and had to be consoled by QPR assistant John Gorman.
In addition to the drama at QPR, after their defeat over the weekend to Arsenal, gaffer Tony Pulis apparently cancelled the Stoke City Christmas party while still in the dressing room. This upset striker James Beattie so much that he informed Pulis of his displeasure, which lead to a bit of a dust-up. Even better, it has been reported that the combatants were in the shower room when this occurred and Pulis gave Beattie a headbutt while wearing only a towel. As with Buzsaky, this has lead to Beattie reportedly asking for a transfer during the January window. After the jump, a UF exclusive – video of the (NSFW) Pulis-Beattie brawl!
