He’s as quiet a mouse and most United fans have absolutely no idea what he sounds like but the never controversial, keeps to himself Welsh winger, Ryan Giggs has just signed a new one year deal at Old Trafford at the age of 36.

It’s been a big year for Giggs as he has rolled back the years to put in the type of performances expected of him 10 years ago, as he reached his professional peak. This season has also seen the left-footed winger made captain in the absence of Rio Ferdinand and just last week he was named the BBC’s ‘Sports Personality’ of the Year.

Giggs’ lengthy football resume is impressive to say the least: Eleven Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and two Champions League medals. All in a career that started back in 1990 at the age of 17. Giggs has played an incredible 821 games for Manchester United scoring 151 goals.

“I am delighted that I have agreed one more year, I am enjoying my football more than ever and I am looking forward to hopefully winning more trophies with Manchester United.”- Ryan Giggs.

The Welshman has been an excellent ambassador of the game for sure, not even Liverpool fans would deny that, it’s just a shame that (like George Best) one of the best players in the game will end his career never gracing the biggest stage of them all, the World Cup.
