Ajax Enjoy Scoring Goals

Amateur side WHC Wezep were thrilled to land a draw against the Dutch legends Ajax in the KNVB Cup, 4th Round. It’s like Dag & Red pulling a trip to Old Trafford in the FA Cup, and yet the dream quickly turned to nightmare as the minnows were walloped to the tune of 14-1.

Fourteen goals to one. Overkill, maybe? Luis Suarez scored six (how was he still on the pitch long enough to notch a second hat-trick?), and teammates Marko Pantelic, Ismael Aissati and Kennedy Bakircioglu all tallied a brace. An own goal and one more from Demy De Zeeuw, and the Amsterdam side were safely through to the quarterfinals where they’ll face NEC Nijmegen.

Check the video, if you like easy goals and stuff:

I actually had to work at this game. im responsible for the replays :)

Normally, in a game like this, Dutch teams score 3 or 4 and then take their foot off the pedal. I think part of the reason why Ajax didnt was some hard fouls from the amateur team early in this game.

Another reason would be that there has been alot to do about Ajax’ last game before this one. They were already qualified for the UEFA league knockout and completely threw their last game against Anderlecht at home, 1-3. They got alot of stick for that from both the media and fans. It also lost them first place in the group, and they drew Juventus because of it.

that ajax left back – or the covering dm or cb – should be ashamed of their defending on the goal

Interesting, Joep! So not only can you give us insight, but the video highlights too!

I can understand why Ajax had to make up for the Anderlecht game, but 14 goals still seems a touch excessive.

whizalen, Urby Emanuelson, Ajax’ left back/mid/forward is famous for his defensive slip ups. the guy that gets passed is actually a CB, Emanuelson can be seen jogging back slowly/not covering his outstepping cb
