Preston North End of the Coca-Cola Championship have announced Fergie’s boy, Darren as their new manager. He replaces Alan Irvine who was sacked last week. Fergie Jr left Peterborough United back in November surrounded by a cloud of mystery with the Chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, and Director of football, Barry Fry, claiming the scot had been ‘tapped up’ and was off to greener pastures.
Ferguson achieved back to back promotions with Peterborough, taking the Posh from League Two to the second tier, where they are currently bottom of the league and 5 points from safety.
His first game in charge will be Preston’s home fixture with Doncaster this Saturday.
