UF Quick Throw: Juve Give Ciro The Zac

Juventus have not only canned Ciro Ferrara for a string of appalling results but they’ve replaced him already! Ciro who? Former Milan coach Alberto Zaccheroni has already taken his shoes off and has his feet on the desk, at least until the summer.

“Ferrara has been relieved of his position and Zaccheroni has been appointed until June 2010.” – Juve Statement.

Juventus have dropped to 6th in the league and lost 7 of their last 9 games. They are currently 14 points adrift of leaders Inter.

    Does this pave the way for an Iberian invasion of Turin? Scousers can only hope.

  2. Norfolk Ned

    I think Scousers would like that as long as Ferrara doesn’t head the other way!

    It was inevitable. Ferrara, beloved as he is by Juve, just wasn’t getting it done.

    Why would Rafa go to Juve when he could go to Madrid whenever he wants? I honestly don’t get this rumor one bit. Granted it’s been started by Sky and the Daily Mail, so it’s not as if it’s trustworthy.

    @Georger. Madrid? Hahahah

  7. Georger

    @Ned. What? If Rafa walked out today you don’t think he’d be Madrid’s coach by Sunday? They don’t give a s**t how he’s struggled this year, they’ve been going after him for four years now. He will eventually coach there, and they certainly wouldn’t keep the current schlub they have given the chance.

    Oh I believe that they’re interested Keith, what I don’t believe is that they’ve already worked out terms.

  9. Georger

    Plus let’s be real, if Madrid finish five points behind Barca, I cannot see them keeping whatshisface.

    Pellegrini is Spanish for “stopgap”. Seriously, I’ll bet money that Benitez and Real get married before 2012. Italy is a new challenge, an unfamiliar land, and a club more dysfunctional than his current one. He’d be mad to do it, but s**t, if he wants to, then go with God.
