Dull Tuesday Fixture Open Thread

These fixtures make me want to take a nap

There’s a smattering of fixtures on the schedule today, so we might as well put up this here open thread, shouldn’t we?

Now, admittedly there is not a lot for you to get excited about, although Burnley do continue their excellent record of getting on TV. The only thing that would make these fixtures less interesting is if Wolves were playing.  But don’t tell all this to Roberto Martinez, who reckons that Stoke are the greatest team in the world. I guess that’s one way to motivate your players, right?

Fixture list and your sparse comments after the jump.  My over-under on comments is 10. Prove me wrong, amigos! And by the way, don’t forget about tomorrow’s big Arsenal-Liverpool tilt, which our own James T will be liveblogging.

In the spirit of Dull Tuesday, Mancini has decided to run out an odd 4-3-3, featuring 3 defensive midfielders. Barry, de Jong, and Vieira all start.

City: Given, Zabaleta, Toure, Kompany, Bridge, De Jong, Vieira, Barry, Adam Johnson, Tevez, Adebayor.
Subs: Taylor, Onuoha, Ireland, Wright-Phillips, Sylvinho, Petrov, Lescott.

Bolton :Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Knight, Ricketts, Robinson, Kevin Davies, Cohen, Muamba, Wilshere, Lee, Elmander.
Subs: Al Habsi, Samuel, Taylor, Gardner, Mark Davies, Basham, Andrew O’Brien.

    Referee: Michael Jones (Who?)

    Camon the football!!! Colaship:

Forest to close the gap at the top, Hoops to beat Scum?

    Newcastle up for Derby?

    Camon. All good stuff.

  3. Norfolk Ned

Oh, and the paint pot is stupid!

  4. Ryan

Anyone know if there’s a way to record Sopcasts?

  5. Set up a video camera?

  6. Ryan

Haha, there’s a button here that says “Enable Recording” but I have no idea what to do after that.

  7. @ Ned

NUFC fields an unchanged team from the 5-1 win over Cardiff.

Can anyone tell me what the hell happened to get Pompey 2 reds in 11 minutes?

  9. cjdomer04

Or is Yebda still on the pitch? I’m really confused…

  10. Ryan

    @cjdomer From the Times:
Just to reaffirm what happened there. Friend sent off Rocha for the last-man tackle on Bent, Rocha stayed on the field protesting his innocence, Friend consulted his assistant who presumably informed him to send off Yebda, then after more arguing Friend recalled Yebda and told Rocha to go again. Clear? I hope so.

  11. cjdomer04

Yea, ok. I was following text that had reds for both, and then a different site said he sent one, then the other, while a third site said what you wrote. Eventually, everyone agreed with that last one. Really, really odd.

  12. Norfolk Ned

Nowt like getting sent off on your debut and what a great signing Rocha was. Sheesh!

  13. Ryan

Right now City’s play is just one notch above “Brutish” on the Wenger scale.

  14. Precious Roy

Ryan: Figure in that Carlos Tevez is nasty and short and Citeh becomes Leviathinian.

  15. Rob Hulse with a header. 1-0 Derby leads NUFC.

I wish Fulham were still Fulhamerica… still pull for them though.

  17. corky

Good for Fulham today…although a small part of me roots for them to struggle to 1-0 victories to show important Deuce is to them. Judging from Fulham’s last three weeks, it looks like Deuce was extremely important.
Oh well, it was just Burnley and they suck away from Turf Moor.

Reading down Plymouth 2-1. Shane Long with a brace. That’s three games on the bounce for the Royals, who are slowly working their way to safety and into the middle table scrum of the Fizzy-Pop League.
