Bob Bradley released his roster for the US v. Netherlands friendly next week and it features the return of a man on a Greek voyage. No, not Freddy Adu. Eddie Johnson. After traveling for what seems like 10 years in London and Cardiff City, Eddie Johnson is enjoying a renaissance of sorts with Greek club Aris since his transfer last month. Johnson’s Aris teammate Freddy Adu has also performed well since joining Aris in January, but the little man didn’t receive a recall likely indicating his omission from the final roster for Bob Bradley.
The roster features all European based players save for four–defenders Jonathan Bornstein and Heath Pearce, midfielder Jose Torres, and forward Robbie Findley. Maurice Edu also marks his return to the squad after missing out for most of the last year due to injury. Clint Dempsey and Oguchi Onyewu are still out injured, but this squad is likely to feature many more players making the final cut than Wednesday’s team against El Salvador.
Goalkeepers: Brad Guzan (Aston Villa, England), Marcus Hahnemann (Wolverhampton, England), Tim Howard (Everton, England)
Defenders: Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes, France), Jay DeMerit (Watford, England), Clarence Goodson (IK Start, Norway), Heath Pearce (Dallas), Frank Simek (Sheffield Wednesday, England), Jonathan Spector (West Ham, England)
Midfielders: DaMarcus Beasley (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland), Alejandro Bedoya (Orebro, Sweden), Michael Bradley (Borussia Moenchengladbach, Germany), Landon Donovan (Everton, England), Maurice Edu (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland), Stuart Holden (Bolton, England), Jose Torres (Pachuca, Mexico)
Forwards: Jozy Altidore (Hull, England), Robbie Findley (Salt Lake), Eddie Johnson (Aris, Greece)

I would start Timmay, Boca, DeMerit, Goodson, Spector; LanDo, Bradley, Torres, Holden; Altidore, Johnson
Question about Eddie Johnson and Adu — is Aris (and their competition) good? Is success there meaningful?
@dan: not according to Ned.
Dan: Aris themselves might not be world-beaters, but the Greek League isn’t a total shambles (see: Panathanaikos’ destruction of quality Serie A team AS Roma in the Europa League).
A team with John Arne Riise got scored on for fun? I find that very hard to believe.
Georger: I think you’ll find they were all Phillippe Mexes’ fault
Any word on when Feilhaber will be healthy?
3 whole forwards?
