Spurs Nab A Summer Sandro

Tottenham appear to have finally bagged Brazilian midfielder Sandro. Manager,  ’Arry Redknapp has been chasing the player since last summer– but now a deal has been declared ‘done’ by Internacional’s president, Vittorio Piffero:

The deal is done and waiting to be signed this week.

Sandro (20) full name: Sandro Ranieri Guimarães Cordeiro, has also been learning English ahead of the move, so once he arrives he can ask Modric and Palacios to pass and tell Jermaine Jenas to get ‘on his bike’; Tubby Huddlestone has signed a new 5-year deal at Tottenham this week and that means poor Jermaine is likely to be left out in the cold as the fifth central midfielder in the Spurs squad and thus, surplus to requirements.

A video of Sandro to get Spurs’ fans hot, after the jump.

Modric will be playing for United so that request might go unanswered.

  2. phil

Georger handwringing predictions of Modric’ defection are going to be funny one day.

As for Sandro, glad to be shut of Jenas, and glad to have a partner in the middle for Wilson/cover for Wilson’s annual accumulation ban.

‘Arry has landed his white whale and I hope he doesn’t turn out to be as s**tty as ‘Arry’s white beanpole.

Georger: Man U have no money! Sky falling! Chaos! Four Horsemen!

  4. Georger

I’d like to think they’ve got no money and I’d like to think you aren’t their feeder club Phil, but I don’t trust those a**holes enough to think they actually don’t have the money from Ronaldo. I think SAF is just waiting.

  5. Georger

Wait Wikipedia says they turned down a 14mil pound offer from Spurs last year but took 10mil Euro this time. Is Rick Parry running that team?

  6. phil

@Georger: I have no doubt he’ll try, but seeing as Carrick and Berbatov have worked out so well (snort), I’m hoping he’s more wary.

As for the Sandro bids, there’s been so much bulls**t tossed around with this signing, I wouldn’t put much stock in any of the cited figures.

  7. Georger

You mean like how it would make a load of sense for two nations that don’t use the Euro to be trading in it?

fwiw, Carrick should have won PotY last year.

  8. phil

Not what I meant at all. But that works, too.

And surely you jest about Carrick. He hasn’t been bad, or at least not as bad as Berba, but POtY-worthy he was, and is, not.

  9. Defoe's a Yiddo

Georger: I think we will keep Modric. Levy has been very supportive of Harry and Luka is a big part of his plans. Sandro, Hudd, Luka, Niko, Palacios. I like how Harry is building the squad. As we see this yr injuries are a part of the game and our sufficient cover all around the midfield has me happy. We just need to purchase some bottle away to the big sides and we will make strides

How many Brazilian 20 year kids settle straight away..Gilberto anyone?

  11. phil

Too true, Ned. But then again, people were making Rebrov and Voronin comps for Arshavin and Pavs, so there’s always some hope.

/sets himself up for disappointment, much to the approval of local liquor merchants.

Personally, I’ve enjoyed and cheer-on the Pavs resurrgence. Obviously it’s because I think ‘Arry is the biggest t**t managing right now (yes, you read that correctly)

  13. Georger

Before or after Brown got fired whiz?

  14. Avram Grant is interested in discussing any t**ts you might know

    @Georger

Last time I checked, Spurs were a feeder club for Sunderland. Malbranque, Chimbonda, Bent, Hutton …

  16. Ryan

I agree whiz, for some reason I despise the man.
