Spurs’ attempt to finish 4th in the EPL this season has been given a seriously big kick in the knackers; Jermain Defoe has ripped his hamstring and will be out for several weeks.
Defoe is currently Tottenham’s top scorer with 17 Premier League goals (23 in all competitions). While the news will make ‘Arry unhappy, it should please Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch, the pair will likely now both start for Spurs in Defoe’s absence.

Sort of related:
City-Spurs has been rescheduled for Wednesday the 5th of May, 2nd last fixture of the season. Hope something’s still on the line then.
I’m wondering if ‘Arry will recall Keano. F**k me. Just when I thought I seen the last of Peter Crouch and our lumping long balls at his horridly ineffective cranium…
No lasagna to blame this time, Spurs fans!!!
Nope, now we get to ride Liverpool’s favorite hobby horse.
Hey now, Phil. Crouch is class. Maybe they should just brainwash him into thinking he’s playing for England
/stifling laughter
/fully aware I’m tempting fate in this tense 4th-place run-in
Methinks Spurs need a new physio. This is just ridiculous.
Be glad Harry bought well. We had many injuries this term and our bench has proved very capable. Time for Eidur to do something
