Sweet Paint Job
So apparently it’s the Dutch who are without sin.
That’s what Steve McLaren’s FC Twente side found out first hand as their bus was pelted with stones en route to the side’s match against AZ Alkmaar.
From the Daily Mail: “The vehicle was bombarded from a viaduct and sustained damage to the side and the rear, although no one was hurt.”
The bus wasn’t the only thing damaged though as Twente went on to lose the match 1-0. They are still four points clear of second place Ajax, but the chasers now have a game in hand and can close the gap to a single point (with two games to play) with a victory today at Willem II Tiburg. Shouldn’t be too tough as the home side sit second from the bottom in the Eredivisie.
Maybe they should be a tad more inconspicuous when traveling.
Considering how handy McLaren is with an umbrella, he could have just gone out side the bus and blocked all the stones.
