After Inter’s Champions League victory over the weekend, it seems all but certain that Jose Mourinho will become the next manager of Real Madrid.
What’s lowclass about Mourinho’s bitch slap rapping’ is that Madrid still have a manager in Manuel Pellegrini. Seriously, dude, have a modicum of respect for the peers in your profession.
Anyway, of the many comments the Special One made is this: “No player or coach has won the three important leagues and I want to be the first to do it. Ancelotti, Capello, Van Nistelrooy, Beckham and others have won two, but not three. I would like to be the first to win the grand slam of the Spanish, Italian and English leagues.”
Uh, what…?
A grand slam plates four runs (or a grand slam in tennis and golf consists of winning the four majors). Not three. Four. You can go for the trifecta of England, Italy, and Spain; or if you want to go to Germany after Spain, that would qualify as a grand slam. Okay, we sound bitchy even for a Monday, but until Pellegrini is actually canned (which could happen today), Mourinho should just dial it back a bit.

He’d also have to win them all in the same year which would be quite an impressive feat.
Triple Crown, imo.
Be Champions!
In theory, he could say he’s won a Grand Slam if he claims a La Liga crown in the near future. He now is a champion in Italy, England and Portugal.
Should be amusing to watch the Special One toy with Pep next term.
Triple Crown, not trifecta… Geez, even I failed. My bad. But I’m not special. Also, Sean, that might work if he hadn’t specified three leagues in his quote.
Triple Crown seems the better metaphor. Or what about Hat Trick? Isn’t that the obvious one?
PR, the Grand Slam is winning the World Cup in 2018 at the helm of the Portuguese national team with a creaky 36-year old Cristiano Ronaldo.
Pellegrini needs to come out with a big “F*ck you where you ain’t special, Jose.”
I’m not defending Jose, but I have a tough time feeling much sympathy for Pellegrini. He knew what he was getting into.
Jose Mourinho is never wrong. Baseball, Tennis, Golf, and Denny’s will henceforth redefine the term to conform with Jose’s metaphor.
