Khedira Moves To Madrid

Sami Khedira had an excellent World Cup, and now, he’s cashing in to try and earn a starting spot amid a stacked Real Madrid lineup. The young German defensive midfielder completed his transfer from Stuttgart this morning, and now we all wonder just how on earth Jose Mourinho will make it all work.

Probably with a lot of hair gel, I reckon.

    I don’t understand this move. I mean, sure playing for Real Madrid is arguably the pinnacle for a player, but Khedira would have been advised to stay in the Bundesliga – a very good league – and ply his trade there a bit longer.

    Agree w/EF; it’s nice to see these players play on a regular basis rather than see camera shots of them on the bench wearing a Wenger-style puffy coat. Bundesliga is an interesting league to watch with many talented young players and I was looking forward to seeing Sami play against guys like Kroos, Mueller, et al, this season. Oh well…

    @EF @OM
    Agreed! I just don’t get what this does for him other than a bigger contract and a bit more press.
    Oh. I seem to have answered my own question.
