Sunday Bootroom: Raw….Comedy and Soccer

A little early today.

I’d love to see/hear a mid-1980s Eddie Murphy routine on the Jersey Shore.

Speaking of Jersey Shore, I saw that The Situation Marouane Chamakh scored yesterday in his home Arsenal debut against AC Milan on a nice pass from Snooki Andrey Arshavin. Those two should be a dynamic duo this season as they seemed to link up well. Although, I wonder how well the slight Chamakh will hold up, especially since he’s with Arsenal now. The Gunners gave up a late goal to AC Milan to lose the victory, ending with a 1-1 draw in the Emirates Cup Match.

The prestigious tournament continues today. Matches and TV schedule after the jump…

6:00 am: Women’s U-20 World Cup Third Place Match: South Korea v. Colombia (ESPNU)

8:55 am: AC Milan v. Lyon (GolTV)

9:00 am: Women’s U-20 World Cup Final: Germany v. Nigeria (ESPNU)

10:00 am: Eintracht Frankfurt v. Chelsea (Internetz)

11:00 am: Spartak Moscow v. CSKA Moscow (Internetz)

11:20 am: Celtic v. Arsenal (GolTV)

3:00 pm: Palmeiras v. Corinthians (GolTV)

    Also add a four team single elimination tournament I’m in today. Winning team takes home $400.

  2. dan

    Tno, my only advice is, don’t suck.

  3. James T

    Women’s Third Place Game is oddly compelling. Korea’s goal was lovely

  4. @Tno, TSE: thoughts on Chivas USA–Crew game? I only watched enough to see Eddie Gaven get knocked the f**k out.

  5. Women’s footy? I thought we were all watching Drumline!

  6. James T

    @NYK
    I would have watched Drumline, but your mum and I rented it last night. She’s a big Nick Cannon fan

  7. James T

    Michael Bradley starts vs. Liverpool today! About to kick off…

  8. Orr

    I’m digging the comedy theme to this weekend, being an aspiring stand-up myself

  9. @JT – I do not appreciate what you are implying, sir!

  10. Jeremy Toulalan makes baby Jesus cry

  11. Orr

    I like Bastos more and more each time I see him, I really hope he doesn’t go to a team I despise

  12. James T

    @NYK–
    I’m merely implying that your mother is an avid watcher of movies!

    @Orr–
    You’re an aspiring stand-up?

  13. Orr

    Indeed JT – I’ve just started fairly recently, perform at a lot of open mics in the Boston area where I live, which is supposedly a good scene to start up in. I’m working on a blog too, I’ll be sure to plug it here when it’s up and running

  14. Orr

    I need to have a back-up plan in case teaching crazy kids doesn’t work out haha

  15. WOW! FIRED UP! dance collection featuring all the greatest hits from my youth. Thanks for the nostalgia, GolTV!

  16. Orr

    I might change my user name to Mr. Vain now

  17. James T

    @Orr
    That’s great! And please do plug when it’s up-and-running.

  18. James T

    @Orr
    Just please make sure that when you become big and famous, you drag UF along for the ride!

  19. James T

    @NYK
    I thought you listened to Jock Jams…?

  20. James T

    Is it just me, or is GolTV about half an hour behind the live feed?

  21. Orr

    Haha we won’t hold our breaths will we JT?
    /bagel run

  22. James T

    @Orr
    Why not? If a Spurs fan can pass the Bar, then surely a Milanese in Boston can become a famous comedian!

  23. Anonsters

    @JT: Bastard.

  24. Anonsters

    Also, this. It’s done and dusted.

  25. why would I listen to Jock Jams? Do I look like a paedophile?

    /don’t answer that

  26. Anonsters

    @NYK: You’re French. By definition that means you have an underaged hooker stored somewhere in your home.

  27. James T

    @Anonsters
    Morning!!!

    @NYK
    Definitely wasn’t planning on answering

  28. Anonsters

    Also, because I have this stuck in my head, I infest you all. To suffer with me, you see.

  29. Handbags from The Duck!

  30. @Anon – you say underaged hooker as if it’s a bad thing.

  31. Anonsters

    @NYK: Not at all.
    /FREE ROMAN!

  32. James T

    @Anonsters
    FREE FRANCK!

  33. Anonsters

    BTW, I’m not here to watch soccer this morning. I’m here to post links like this.

  34. Anonsters

    @JT: Franck can f**k off. What? That’s what got him into trouble in the first place? Oh.

  35. phil

    Oi. Stumbled from bed, made coffee, stumbled to living room, tripped over boxes I drunkenly packed last night, broke my little toe. Needless to say, I am one hungover, pissed off Yiddo.

  36. James T

    Sorry Phil. My advice: don’t click on any of Anonster’s links in this thread as they’ll only make things worse

  37. James T

    LFC lost 1-0 this morning with their kiddies + Cole, Johnson, and Gerrard. FAIL

    That said, Chelsea are losing 1-0 to Eintracht Frankfurt with a strong team: Hilario; Ferreira, Bruma, Terry, Cole; Mikel, Benayoun, Zhirkov, Kalou, Malouda; Anelka.
    Subs: Turnbull, Ivanovic, Essien, Carvalho, Lampard, Sinclair, Matic, Mancienne, Borini.

  38. James T

    Holy s**t… Carlos Vela scored a goal?

  39. phil

    @JT: Thanks for the heads up.

  40. Anonsters

    @JT: Heeeey. That link to the pictures of bears was fan-f**king-tastic.

  41. phil

    I really can’t make myself care about preseason footy. Especially on the heels of the WC. I think I need to start drinking again.

  42. Orr

    I’ll confess to enjoying the bears

  43. Anonsters

    @Orr: Attaboy. Maybe it’s an Italian thing. :P

  44. @anon: Thanks. There’s nothing like waking up to the sweet melodies of the Final Countdown.

  45. that is an outstanding challenge from Clichy. I love that kid.

  46. James T

    @LE
    Don’t encourage him. That song should remain in the 80s vault, never to be exhumed

  47. phil

    @NYK: Isn’t that the sort of thing that got Franck in trouble?

  48. @phil – Gael is of age!

  49. Orr

    Arsenal still haven’t picked up a better GK?

  50. James T

    Moscow derby is fascinating. Tied at 0-0 with 20 mins left. Akinfeev just tweaked his calf muscle making a superb save

  51. Anonsters

    Man, those synthesizers are so high-tech, out of this world, amazing. Just imagine where technology will be in 10 years!

  52. James T

    Arsenal beating Celtic 3-0. Nothing deja vu about that

  53. SAMIR!
    NASRI!
    CLAP. CLAP. CLAP-CLAP-CLAP!

  54. James T

    I don’t know that song, NYK. Hum another.

  55. brilliant ball from Arshavings

  56. what is going on at the Emirates!?!?!

  57. James T

    @NYK
    I didn’t want to say anything… letting Celtic back into the game like that is LOLtastic.

  58. did anybody else see football jesus dive and give celtic a pk that was missed?

  59. Ryan

    Anyone ever download FM through Vuze or something similar? I have zero experience with this sort of thing. I downloaded the file, burnt it to a disc, installed it, and now nothing works.

  60. Johnny Clamboat

    @TFA

    It was Fortune (I think). Not a dive, just a stupid foul by Wilshire.
