Celtic manager Neil Lennon has admitted he is out of his depth by seeking the help of Finland manager Stuart Baxter.
Celtic have tried to appoint Baxter as ‘director of football’ at the club on a job-share type deal, but the Finnish FA has blocked the move.
Celtic saw their hopes of Champions League qualification take a hit last week as they lost 3-0 to Braga of Portugal while failing to put a single shot on goal. After the mauling, Lennon was bullish, talking up a comeback in the second leg this coming Wednesday.
As for the cry for help, Lennon says he will be calling Baxter for advice, which should surely bother the Celtic board. After all, they gave Lennon the job after he virtually begged for it this summer, stating his ability to handle the position and drive Celtic forward.
Said Neil Lennon of he quest for help, “He doesn’t need to be my pal, we’re just going to talk football.”
Celtic lost out to Rangers in the SPL title race by 6 points last season while Lennon was in temporary charge.
I bet the Celtic board regret taking the cheap option now!
