Liverpool Chairman Claims Multiple Bids Received

Waldorf & Stadler reacting to news they may not get all their money back out of LFC.

The news of the potential parting of ways of Liverpool from Stadler and Waldorf will probably be a constant drumbeat around here and in the general soccer media because all sides will be leaking information to help their respective causes.

Yesterday it was news that Kenny Huang is preparing a bid for LFC and maybe even trying to purchase the debt from RBS. Today it is LFC Chairman Martin Broughton claiming there are multiple bids for the club on the table currently.

Huang has not entered a due diligence phase as of yet, but it is not clear whether any other potential bidders have either.

What is clear, however, is that there appears to be an impetus to close the deal prior to the transfer window closing so that the new owners can strengthen the squad and hopefully persuade Fernando Torres to stick around for a few more seasons.

Huang allegedly has given LFC eleven days to decide on his offer and Broughton has indicated August 31 is an “important date” for the sale of the club.

So, stay tuned for the constant drip-drip-drip of rumors, denials and intrigue. It should make for an interesting month.

If this goes through, predicting some pro-LFC news headline to read “Everybody Kenny Huang Tonight!” It’s got to happen…

Wait – a guy in charge of selling something said lots of people have bid on it? Outrageous.
