L’Orient up 1-0 on OL on a penalty! Lyon not looking good in the back in the early going.
HAHA! go f**k yourself Toulalan – obvious handball and Gameiro converts the PK
United are just slicing through West Ham. Could end up 3-0.
@ TSE: You guys could use a few goals, since Chelsea slowed down and only scored 2.
ah, the center who just called the handball on Toulalan was one of the goal-end officials in the Tottenham v Young Boys match who missed the Defoe handball
Montpelier have 1970s leisure suit style collars on their shirts…not bad.
I think they figured it couldn’t have gone any better last year, so they’ll celebrate with their kits.
they also played a lot of “Leisure Suit Larry” as kids
So today is lousy finishing day, huh?
@ Fro: So far.
Maybe a whole bunch of guys have friends up in the seats who wanted souvenirs or something. Either that or they figure “Hell, Zamora got a call up to the England team by putting it into row Z”
Loris is gonna have a loooonng day.
@OM – to go along with his stupid long pants
Holy crap, foxsoccer.tv has immediate video for replay of the earlier EPL (suck it Barclays) matches rather than the half day delay.
Yohan warming up for OL as a player is coming off injured.
Apparently OL’s plan is to leave their three best attacking players on the bench today? I understand Gourcuff since he just moved, but, yeah…
@ NYK: What do you have on Lorient? They’re playing quite well in this first half, great passing and speed.
Shut up Nani
Far too easy there
Is Evans playing? Just want to know if the women of Manchester can be sure they’re safe for a couple of hours.
After Berba took his shirt off for ManU’s third, I don’t think any of the ladies of Manchester are safe.
The Berba scores in every way conceivable.
No fight in West Ham today
Just got back, so I must: Spurs!!!!!
—
Make it to the CL, lose at home to Wigan. That is Tottenham Hotspur.
Sorry for my lateness. This is what happens when a vendor drops the ball and I have to go babysit, thereby missing my first Gers match in about three years. Anyways, I just wanted to say to all the Spurs supporters, “Ha. Ha-ha-ha. Ha. Ha-ha. Ha.”
.
That is all. Cheers!
@OM – Lorient are a decent side, but struggling a bit for the start of the season. They’ve got some decent talent, but they lost their best player in Vahirua to Nancy. Fun fact, Vahirua is the only French Polynesian player in Ligue 1
@ NYK: Thanks. Now, they just put another one past pants Loris
Alright everybody, who’s ready for some Serie A?
@ Orr: Has their season finally started?
@Orr – the Roma match? How will the minnows of Cesena do?
@OM – wearing pants=being pants
I’m ready, Orr!
Oh, Gourcuff almost made it level.
@ NYK: You’d appreciate this: Announcer for the OL match said, “Oh my, I don’t think Toulalan has had a more difficult time in the back.”
Cappone is making it hard for Fabien Audard to regain his spot in net for Lorient
I will say this, Orr… Genoa f**ked up by transferring Bocchetti to Rubin Kazan. Pretty sure that went through.
@OM – Toulalan is s**t. I was ecstatic that Lolo didn’t call him up for the first 2 Euro 2012 qualifying matches
Valencie up 1-0 on Malaga
OL looking a bit more lively in attack now that Lisandro’s in, but still down two goals.
@JT – Agreed on Bocchetti, but Genoa picked up a nice win over Udinese today.
@NYK – Remember how we all felt about Blackpool a few weeks ago? That’s the position Cesena finds itself in.
@Orr – So Cesena are going to beat Udinese 4-0?
Honestly, I don’t think they have a prayer of staying up
I totally forget that Riise played for Roma
It’s only a few minutes in and this Cesena team look already out of their depth.
OH BOY, It’s whisper-shout guy on the commentary for FSC!
On another note, why can’t a Roma or Juve pick up Dempsey on loan? I think he’d be a nice Serie A player.
The Lorient President has a stunning Roberto Mancini-esque scarf in orange and white. Lyon going out 2-0 to Lorient.
@corky – he would probably get more time than that t**t Hughes is currently giving him.
I agree corky, he’d flourish with more time on the ball
@Orr. You’re dead on. Cesena look terrible. I remember when FSC only had Treviso, Lecce, and Lazio home games. Treviso and Derby County could have had a nice contest for worst top-flight team in a major league ever.
Jason Statham is the president of Lorient?
@ corky: I think he’s a reason why I don’t follow Serie A that much even though its on FSC. he puts me to sleep most of the time.
On Dempsey — good ball skills and he has that touch of dirtiness as well. Perfect for Serie A!
@ NYK: Oui, fear Les Merlus!
Son of a bitch, we lost.
Liverpool fans will note that Diego Cavalieri is now on loan at Cesena
Alright, time to see a little Brest.
Or was sold rather, I am misinformed.
@NYK: You Gooners are branching out to little girls now, too?
@Orr
I care not for Cavalieri.
@Anon – just watching the Newcastle replay. HEY-O!
Oh me either, JT. I think indifference is the word.
Oooooooo, Cesena almost went up 1-0 on Roma. Should’ve.
Orr: I hope he does well. He’s inoffensive to me.
Which would’ve been funny because this team is pants.
Roma just too casual at the moment
@Orr: It’s like they lost the plot after that counterattack-almost-goal by Cesena.
Ah, Bad Herbs & Brest.
I think Vucinic was actually trying to kick the ball out of the stadium just there, not shoot.
Also, I can’t stand Vucinic.
Also, I’m never going to bed at 7 am when Spurs play at 10 am again. Dammit.
Shoulda just stayed up
@ Anon: Good day to have stayed sleeping. That’s what the lads did. Sleep-walked right through it.
Bad Herbs already down to 10 men against saggy Brest. studs caught blood through the sock.
harsh RC, I think
Roma looking apathetic, 0-0 at the half, credit to Cesena but truly poor play from the Romans
Ibra to Milan is apparently officially done.
I don’t want him at Milan to be honest, but if he scores goals I’ll support him
Really, Ryan? That’s huge.
Some brief observations gleened from the EPL (Suck it, Barclays!) table after the third Saturday of the season: Chelsea’s goal difference is +14 (WOWSER!). Wolves in the top four, Liverpool in the drop zone. Fulham three games, three draws. Stoke and West Ham Hammered sit with no points.
Great save by the old-timer!
@JT: Yep, loan with option to buy for 24m next summer. I’m a little disappointed as Milan were supposedly going to resort to Robinho if they couldn’t pull of an Ibra deal.
Oh look. My team won. That is all.
saggy Brest finally with a score over 10 man Caen, took long enough
Anyone else think the Serie A logo that flashes up there during replays looks kind of like a Pokéball?
@OM – that was a fairly sick goal from Roux. I dig that kid
Quickly 2-0 after a penalty given up by Caen, the Brest have perked up!
And that’s why Roma won’t surpass Inter this year
Makes more since why you follow League Ugh now…
Sense too. Crikey. When does next year’s MLS start?
Brave John Terry also evidently ruled out for the upcoming England qualifiers.
@ NYK: Yeah, sweet strike, just under the top bar. Can’t believe it took them that long as Caen had been down a man for a long time.
Doop, doop, doop! Union pick up three points in an empty Gillette Stadium! We love ya Blue & Gold!
Battery!
@RFCSean (and possibly James T) COME ON THE U!!!! We’re doopin in the stands.. DOWN BY THE RIVER!!
Today sucked.
Doop Doop Doop! Watched the game. Great effort until the very end. Mapp’s goal should give the lads a huge boost.
