WTF Concacafafafaf…qualifying for the next WC could have 6 different rounds – why so ridiculously complicated?

There are 40 teams have 10 groups of 4 – top 2 go through and then 2 groups of 5 – winners in WC – losers play off.

Perhaps because of the laughability of the index itself, which was seemingly thought up in a paradox world where the statistical style information of Championship Manager rules the game.

1)I base my entire outlook of the world off FM, so f**k them.
2)Is it really so crazy to pick players based on form instead of name-recognition? This kind of thinking is exactly the reason Darren Bent didn’t go to SA, simply because he’s Darren Bent and apparently Arry’s missus can play better. But that left a guy with 24 from 38 league games at home. What more of a return can you want?

It’s just a little bit crazy sometimes, I think, that we look at players in any sport and make judgments on their current abilities based off something that happened a few years ago. We look at Gerrard and see Instanbul, not the guy who captained Liverpool to seventh and played some rather unspectacular football all of last year (although he did continues to develop his Scholesean ability to launch himself into tackles). Terry was a rock under Moruinho but has been suspect at best under every manager since. Even on a smaller sample size you have this: everyone said Rooney would be tired and he was. Everyone knew Emile Hesky was a complete pile of s**t and a body to fill a shirt but went along with it anyway.
    .
I dunno. I just think there’s a lot more room for advanced statistical analysis in sport, certainly in this sport. This is one still filled with hunches and feelings, but should be one that, with the money involved, you think would have a lot more hard evidence backing the men making the big decisions.

Probably the only thing w/the A-League bans is the inability for players/clubs to appeal the suspensions; if they have that mechanism in place, then the ability to suspend for diving post-match should hold. At least, I hope it does.
