There’s nothing we here at UF support more than First Amendment rights. We totally support your speech, and we totally support a female soccer player’s right to put suggestive photos on their Facebook profile.
What we don’t support is the ability of an uppity mother to get the player to remove the pictures.
Furthermore, what we REALLY don’t support is the lack of success we’ve had in finding the “offensive” photos. That’s where we turn to you…
Aussie midfielder Lisa De Vanna apparently had some fun with the pics on her Facebook profile.
Quite the stretch.
According to the newspaper article, “The Facebook images, which could be viewed by the public, showed 25-year-old De Vanna in a series of lewd poses.
“Friends of the player posted profane comments on one of the photos, which showed friends of the soccer star posing jokingly with a large blow-up penis.”
I didn’t realize they had the camera on when I was there. I kid, I kid.
The pics were found by a 13-year-old girl who was looking for her soccer hero on Facebook. The mother said her daughter was distraught and offended. The mother, who asked to only be called “Jane,” called and complained to the Australian FA, who told De Vanna to take them down. She has, and we’re left in the dark unless you, our readers, can find some magical way to retrieve said photos for our perusal.
We think the world has a right to decide whether a 25-year-old woman playing with a large blow-up penis is truly offensive. It can’t be that offensive, since I have 20-30 similar pics on my profile. What? They’re not tagged.

De Vanna doesn’t appear to have been in that calendar.
Well I tried to do my piece of due diligence, but a google search for her for whatever reason pulled up photo results of Christina Hendricks and… yeah… Not even sure what we were talking about in the first place.
