That Auxerre kit is a crime against humanity.

It appears that there is an oddity of the team in 7th being easiest to beat from all teams in the top 10 for the Champions. . . .

    Seventhpool skewed the data!

“The French are just f**king with me now ”
I thought “aw cmon Jacob it can’t be that ba..HAHAHAHA.

LOVE the Padres. HATE the Chargers, so glad they lost.

  3. Marcamps

Tno: ditto. waves of schadenfreude came a-crashin’ after walking around the block and seeing Bolts fans all sad’n's**t. Padres, 1st in NL West again. f**k yeah.

  4. Tno

    @Mar
    Phillip Rivers is a jackass.

Everytime I watch the Pads now forthe next 19 (hopefully +) games I will be sweating bullets. The losses to San Fran were punches to the gut.

  5. Marcamps

Tno: word. and that 10 game dicksuck of a losing streak really didn’t help their securing-a-spot-in-the-postseason cause. looks like they didn’t need a football match destroying the field & mound to ruin their pennant race after all.
    .
going to the Chivas-Chivas USA game. interested in seeing the field setup and all.

  6. Shane

I want it to be 2.45 already.

  7. Outside Mid

Who wants to freeze to death playing a game? Russia’s change is going to stagnate any upper tier talent joining their league and possibly harm those clubs that depend on the gate for revenue.

  8. Outside Mid

@ Shane: Ditto, going to be tough trying to get work done today.

  9. whizalen

    1. @OM: what “upper tier” talent is joining a russian team for anything other than a paycheck and/or chance to play?

    2. the graphic on soccernet right now is lols worthy

    3. I liked that kit spelling.

    4. Jay-Z getting onto the arsenal board would be amazing. It’ll likely never happen, but it would be amazing.

  10. Shane

@whiz: re: soccernet: Even I’m not that delusional. For f**k’s sake, it’s the first group stage game.

  11. Outside Mid

@ whiz: That’s what I’m saying–if some of their larger clubs were aspiring to a Big Boy status and wanted to attract better international players to achieve that, those guys won’t be going there if it’s -frozen balls degrees and no one sees them play. They didn’t really go there before, and they definitely won’t later.

  12. Outside Mid

So, is Manchester United playing today?/weak sarcasm after seeing Soccernet banner too.

  13. Shane

The Bremen/Tottenham “WORLD WAR III” banner is coming soon.

  14. Outside Mid

@ Shane: No, they’ll probably do a rotation of them, but the BATTLE OF BRITAIN will dominate today’s proceedings on Mickey’s channel.

  15. Is the Spurs game on tv anywhere?

  16. Shane

@LE: If you have direct it should be on the UEFA channels in the 480 range.

  17. patrick monahan, jimmy stafford, scott underwood, rob hotchkiss, and charlie colin all are in train.all solid professionals. there must be something to this band.might have to their new cd and see what all the fuss is about.

  18. Outside Mid

    @ LE: If you’re cable, it’s on FS+ I believe along with foxsoccer.tv online

  19. Anonsters

If foxsoccer.tv manages to f**k up today, I will go mental.

  20. James T

Oh, we’ll have an open thread so we can all giddily follow along with ‘Arry’s ‘uropean ‘dventures
    /still bitter
    /goddamn it

  21. Outside Mid

    @ James T: Excellent!
@ Anon: Prepare to go mental–they will find a way.

  22. Anonsters

    Guh. Is it 2:45 yet?????

  23. Outside Mid

No, time is actually going backwards at the moment.

  24. Anonsters

This is relevant to JT’s comment about giddily following ‘Arry’s adventures:

It’s only a group game, right? It’s not a Cup final, yeah? Let’s not giddy, k? Keep those feet firmly on the ground. Yeah, well, no. Hearts on our sleeves. It’s the only way. . . . To dare is to f***ing do. Let’s get this show on the road. Believe. COYS.

    COYS.
/trying to induce dry heaving by non-Spurs fans :D

  25. Shane

@anon: The Spurs fan caravan spreads the word, with likely results.

  26. Outside Mid

Tottenham lineup: Cuddicini, King, Kaboul, BAE, Corluka, Thudd, Jenas (damn it), Bale, Lennon, Crouch, VdV

  27. @OM: Honestly, Jenas inspires more confidence than Palacios these days.

  28. phil

I will now predict Werder’s first goal:

off a set piece by Werder, Hudd and Kaboul will get way too far forward as Spurs try to spring the counter. Jenas will gift the ball to Werder in the middle of the pitch, Ledders wooden legs will not allow him to clsoe down, Corluka will lumber over at a snail’s pace as Frings smashes it into the top of the net.

  29. Outside Mid

@ LE: OK, but him & Kaboul? At least Wilson still has the ability to crunch and destroy. Jenas will just flitter away. Perhaps ‘Arry didn’t want a bloodbath between Frings & Wilson.

  30. James T

Open Thread is coming real soon! Hang tight, lads! And sorry that Jermaine Jenas is going to be playing in the Champions League.

  31. phil

@JT: Let’s not go so far as to say he’ll be “playing.” “Participating” is more like it.

  32. But..he was the sex in the 5-1 at the lane.

  33. phil

@LE: I’m convinced that was a diabolical plan by Arsene to insure Spurs kept Jenas around forever.

  34. Open thread now live. Get to it.

  35. @Goat–that made me smile. Good one.
