It’s time for the Sippy Cup! Can you feel the excitement? Can you feel the tension? No? Well, start feeling it now… or else.
The day is obviously headed up by the Tottenham Hotspurs v. Wenger’s Little Boys. I’m not even going to comment on it. I’m just putting the bootroom together so you guys can turn this into a commenting Thunderdome. Honestly, if you don’t break 1,000 comments, even on a Tuesday, it’ll just show what Nancies you both are.
Follow and comment after the jump. And remember, play nice.
So there are a couple of actual interesting games other than the Battle of North London. Owen Coyle gets to play against his former side in Burnley, Stoke and Fulham get to bore the crap out of their supporters, and Sunderland and West Ham will see which one will get one more bonus game. It always strikes me how many EPL v. EPL matches there are in the third round. Oh well, better to help them focus on the league.
Here’s the list of games. They all start at 2:45 p.m. EDT. None of them are on broadcast channels, so it’s to the streams we go!
Birmingham City v. Milton Keynes
Brentford v. Everton
Burnley F.C. v. Bolton Wanderers
Millwall v. Ipswich Town
Peterborough United v. Swansea City
Portsmouth v. Leicester City
Stoke City v. Fulham
Sunderland v. West Ham United
Tottenham Hotspur v. Arsenal
Wolverhampton v. Notts County

This is embarrassing for Spurs. Wow. Pass Pass Pass side volley from Pixie. Wenger is even leaving early!
‘arry needs a white cat in his lap sitting in that chair.
@MW: Lolwut? I didn’t say you lol’d.
@MW: Here you go, dearie. I know you old’uns take some time adjusting to all this newfangled culture.
the only thing worse than watching penalties is listening them on an audio feed instead
Man, people abandon this place after a game faster than rats on a sinking ship. Oh well. Arsenal well and truly spanked us. Onward and upward!
Agreed, Brian. Wolves final was 4-2. Nobody has missed in the Everton penalties yet. 2-2
3-3 in Everton shootout.
Wow, just plain wow, how do we not win playing an actually strong squad
EVERTON OUT!!! 4-3 on Penalties.
so what was the final score? I was looking up Anonsters damn slang (p.s. sidenote…the blog left me on the previous page /i know what you’re thinking. So, that could be where everyone else is?
god, everton is sucking ass this season…such a shame.
Oof. Sorry, Brian.
@MW: 4-1 to the Goons. 1-1 (4-3 pens) to Brentford.
Could have used Timmay there, but oh well, maybe Moyes can actually light a very big fire under the squads collective ass
@Brian: Hey, losing is tough. I know. We just capitulated to the Nemesis. But you don’t need to light yourselves on fire over it!
Wow. Went to pick up my kids from school, missed ET and Arsenal scuba’d their way to the win. Oh well, one less competition to deal with. And, in fairness to l’Arse, Spurs probably didn’t deserve the goal that got them to ET anyway.
@ Brian: I would not recommend lighting fires under a collective ass–you don’t know how much combustible material might be there!
@OM: “And, in fairness to l’Arse. . . .” How dare you, sir!
Kudos on breaking 500 comments, even if about 50 were from me.
@OM: Makes you wonder whether Ancelotti’s ass is fire-proof, as well as earthquake-proof, doesn’t it?
@ Anon: Well, if Ancelotti has been learning his lessons on dealing with the Chelski czar Roman, he probably has fire-proofed it as well. And, “in fairness to l’Arse” was a throwaway as this was a CC match and I told myself not to get worked up about it. I was hoping not to watch it and be irritated with our performance, but ended up doing so anyway.
And, what’s going on with some quality sides playing today? Now I’m watching Real/Espanyol and Higuain just put Real up 2-0.
Sooo Hannover 96 beat Bremen 4-1. The Bundesliga is incredibly entertaining this year.
@OM: Yeah, I slept through the first half. I facepalmed a bit at the second half, but in the end, I don’t especially care that we’re out of the CC. I would’ve cared even less if someone other than the Arse put us out.
Benezma with the 3rd for Real! TSO chews his gum more slowly now.
@ Anon: I just really don’t want to see Pavs play anymore. If he’s in FA Cup play, I think I’m going to skip those ties. And Bentley made Keane look good. Ugh.
@OM: That reminded me of DML’s quote of the week, which I adored:
@ Anon: Yes, today’s 1st half passing was like that: the ball kept going to Bentley.
@MW: Here’s the crying Spurs kid:
