Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola gave Gerard Piqué and Carles Puyol the night off during yesterday’s Copa del Rey dismantling of Ceuta, 5-1.
While Messi and his merry band of Catalans were busy running up the score on their lowly Segunda B opponents, the world champion duo was caught on camera having a little fun with a very bald spectator.
Piquenbauer, whose full name is Gerard Piqué Bernabéu (don’t tell Barça fans), was enjoying a bag of sunflower seeds. Since the outcome of the match was a foregone conclusion (7-1 on aggregate), he thought it would be fun to throw some seeds at a spectator in the row ahead of him, then blame it on his moptop teammate whenever the victim confronted him.
Puyol went along with the practical joke, laughing whenever the poor follically-challenged man turned back to watch the action on the pitch. As the players left the stands at the end of the match, Piqué crumpled up the entire bag and chucked it at the guy.

Normally, such sophomoric antics would at least merit a reprimand from the club’s top brass, but the Barcelona captain posted a photo on his Twitter that cleared up any rumors of Piqué being a total jerk: the subject of the prank was team physical therapist Juanjo Brau, so it’s totally cool.
I guess the next time Piqué or Puyol get injured, Juanjo will be ready and waiting to exact his revenge. I can tell you from personal experience (nasty broken thumb—it’s a long story) that physical therapists just love inflicting pain on their torture victims patients.
