Blogging is tough work for little or—in most cases—no pay. You have to come up with, like, thoughts and stuff, and it’s not always fun to be called an A-hole by some kid living on the other side of the country.
And yet we do it. Some of us are found by the many and become huge. Some of us live in relative obscurity. These are some of the best of the obscure. Vote for them, please.
Left Back in the Changing Room—I like Rob Marrs’ blog for a few reasons. He’s smart, knows his stuff and he cares. Plus, he writes just about every day, which can be rough with a job and a life on a one-man blog. He’s worth a look, for the occasional cricket post, if nothing else.
Avoiding the Drop—This group contains some of our most famous commenters along with others. They’ve gotten together to write with passion and authority. Sure, they totally ripped off their blog from us, but we love them anyway. I kid, I kid…
Yankee Yiddos—Another blog filled with our commenters. You have to love a blog that refers to the team as “we” and goes crazier over Harry Redknapp than The NY Kid would at being asked to pleasure Thierry Henry. I think we have to nominate them since they threadjack everything on our site anyway.
Futfanatico—One of James T’s faves is worth the list for the videos, the analysis and the perspective. It’s good, and I’ve become a fan. Check it out.
Unprofessional Foul—Yes. We can vote for ourselves. I bet we don’t win, though. We’re just third-rate enough to lose this thing.
There you go. Blogs to check out if you already don’t. Check out the first post in this series for the rest of the categories, and vote safely!

I’m enough of both (1) a sycophant and (2) a narcissist to vote for UF on this one. Hooray us/you!
Cheaters!
C’mon folks, it’s AtD or LBitCR.
Or Futfanatico or YY.
Don’t worry Phil/Bill, I got your backs. Go Yankee Yiddos!
@LE: Pah. Only a third-rate blog would nominate itself in one of its own polls. Therefore, it must win.
@Anon: But it already gets plenty of traffic. As they keep telling us, there are already way too many Spurs fans on here.
Ahem. “We” were told there would be swag from Concave Sports for all the nominees, and well, I’m not sporting any Concaves at the moment so….
I am humbled and honored to be nominated for this award. If I win two prestigious blogger awards in one year, I may just have to take a final victory lap, sell my PR3 domain name to an SEO hack, and sip on Coronas the rest of my life.
Although I am disturbed you tracked down a family picture of me from well over a decade ago. Curse you flickr!
Will this lead to UF disqualifying itself from it’s own awards for stuffing the ballot boxes voting for itself?
What sad times are these when passing ruffians can say, “Spurs” at will to old ladies.

Seriously, there’s a nomination for a club-specific blog? You Spuds have truly taken over the asylum.
You would cry if we left.
Now let’s remember correctly. We were not DQed for stuffing the ballot box per se, we were DQed almost immediately after we embedded the poll on our page, thus stealing pageviews from EPL talk. He was fine with everything we did before that as long as we were inflating his page numbers.
@Anon: Aside from implications of saying “Spurs” at will to old ladies, I wasn’t so much making a value judgment as noting the blog’s new overlords.

Which is actually fine with me – you guys can be perceived to be in charge here, so as long as you keep finishing 4th or 5th in the table that counts.
I say we because I’m actually on the team. But, I score goals for country (Croatia) and would fit nicely in the midfield, so I never play.
/Niko’d.
Like Elliot, I’m honoured to even be mentioned – there are lots and lots of great football blogs out there (I keep discovering new ones).
Anyway, most kind – all blogs in the list are among my favourites.
As ever,
Rob
Rob, your blog is great. Promise me I might be able to help you assemble the Z-Team!
YY ferr lyfe
It’s come to that, has it?
We’re honored…and maybe a little bit confused.
The Z Team is pretty easy James! I mgiht need assistance with Q + X!
Ricardo Zamora, Zenga, Zubizaretta, Zoff, Zagorakis, Zakarias, Zoco, Zamorano, Zinho, Zizihno, Zarra, Zola, Zambrotta, Zanetti, Zidane and Zico!
And no doubt more beside…. thoughts always welcome on this (and, indeed, all my posts!)
Cheers!
Blast, you’re so right! X though… I’ll start thinking now as you’ll be there in a flash
Well, it has taken me some time to get to G. X will be pretty difficult (built around Xavi!).
The more I think about it, the more I see problems with the previous teams. Especially the A team (Anderson and Adams – no way!). The others I am more or less happy with.
Cheers – all help, comments, thoughts, criticism is really greatly received!
