Babel Moves to the Village

Much maligned Dutch forward Ryan Babel will take his triple threat talents of not scoring, rapping horribly, and ill-conceived Twittering to Germany’s richest little village club.  Babel is headed to Hoffenheim in a transfer reported to be around 7 million euros–if he passes his medical test.

Despite the Demba Ba deal falling through with Stoke this weekend, 1899 are not keen on bringing him back.  As Chinedu Obasi is still out recovering from a shin fracture, Die Hoff really only have Vedad Ibisevic up front and–without Ba–are sorely lacking options for its front line.

I bet you Liverpool fans thought he’d never leave.

  1. Good thing Babel has the one language to rule them all.

  2. This will all turn sour when Babel starts to hassle the Hoff.

Just saw Honigstein retweet someone saying Babel has multiple clubs to choose from now?

@ Ryan: Yeah, that’s odd; Rafa was conservative on saying the deal was done yesterday even though Liverpool had reported an agreement–maybe he’s got a ITK nobody else does.
