The Sudamericano Sub-20 is a tournament currently underway in Peru which gives away spots for the London Olympics in 2012. Last night, Brazil’s U20′s had their debut against Paraguay, and 18 year old Santos forward Neymar gobbled up all the scoring chances.
Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, who has 27 goals in 64 appearances for Santos, managed a brace in each half, and the second pair of netters came after the Scratch were down to nine men. That either says a lot for Neymar’s scoring proclivities, or it says a lot about Paraguay’s defense.
In case you’re still drawing a blank on Neymar, this is the guy Dunga left out of Brazil’s World Cup squad last year despite a massive outcry from the Brazilian faithful. In July, new manager Mano Menezes called him up for a friendly against Death Stare Bob’s Boys. He scored in the 28th minute.
