I have to watch el clasico on ESPN deportes.
STAY ON YOUR FEET VS. BULGES THE OL’ ONION BAG
.
Which is more annoying?
Oh and I see Mascherano isn’t even on the bench. Nice.
@ Wac: For me, guess I’d prefer the onion bag as the quality of play on the pitch can make that a bit more bearable.
@WAc
Onion bag. Easy.
Barca looks a little sloppy in possession today.
Valdes a liability for this Barca side with handling like that.
Ronaldo is wearing the new CR7 colorway of the Superflies, and I actually kind of like them. I wouldn’t wear them though.
Where’s the snorkel Crissy?
2-0 Parma! Haha, suck it Inter
Bolsos!
The ref just got mugged. Officials really need to start cracking down on that.
@ Orr: Leonardo–OUT.
Villa was already falling before he got to the keeper, good call ref
Given the amount of hair gel/product in the referee’s hair, it is fair to assume he is biased towards Real Madrid.
@Tno, Agreed could you imagine if a ref just decided screw it, and decided to card everyone around him. I imagine those pow-wows would stop quickly
@TFA, and the fact he probably wants to get out of the stadium alive
@ Wac: Tommy Smyth thinks you’re full of rotted garlic apparently.
Do not like that–Messi asking for Marcelo to get the yellow. Rather irksome.
@Brian
I think FIFA needs to do something (wishful thinking)about it. You can’t take your shirt off, but you can scream in a ref’s face.
With TNO on the ref thing–sure they make mistakes, but the ganging up and yelling needs to be cracked down more.
@Tno, part of it I think is the refs fault. I would guess that if a ref did decide to crack down on dissent, FIFA wouldn’t punish the ref for it, nor would the local FA, it is just a ref needs to step up and do it
Ronaldo controlled it with his chest, and then caught it on his foot. He didn’t just trap it he caught it in the middle of 3 Barca players.
Screw the stats! Don’t want to hear about the friggin’ pass rate. Run about, etc….
3-0 final for the Rossoneri, job done. I heard there was some other big game on?
what a pussy…somebody should give him a real gash between his legs.
I can’t help but tap my toe to those drums.
@ Orr: yes, still scoreless Philly v Seattle.
Messi headbutted a butt, injured self.
That’s gotta be a red card on Messi, you can’t just go around headbutting people
Jesus that move by Barca was awesome. Good save from Casillas.
At the other end against Valdes, that’s a goal. Casillas is kinda good.
How does one of those headers not go in?
If this was the Prem, all those players flopping and falling over would add on at least 10 minutes of stoppage time.
Assuming Barca doesn’t score in the next minute, this seems to be exactly the first half Mourinho wanted.
Oh, Philly scored. Was it LeToux? (crosses fingers)
The best part of el Clasico so far is the deportes announcer pronouncing Pepe as PeePee.
Blast, it was Ruiz.
@OM: Nope, Ruiz on a deflected free kick.
@berg: agreed.
The Championship isn’t the top flight, so who cares about Reading?
ESPN deportes announcer’s pronunciation for penalty is almost as amusing as his pronunciation for Pepe.
blast. that red card is going to ruin this match.
Well, it was a foul, and it was a clear goalscoring opportunity…so as much as that sucks, i think he got it right
yeah, obvious penalty.
So Mou Mou takes his only striker off, huh?
Can someone tell Di Maria that the goal is not at the top of the Bernabeu? He’s shanked that same shot twice now.
Villa needs to finish that. Should have taken another touch.
Time for Crissy to step up.
Perfect penalty. 1-1
I say penal only because dani alves is a complete twat.
^^Co-signed
Ozil is a good f*cking player.
Ozil is silky smooth.
That last pass Messi played convinced me that this grass is really long.
Khedira should have done so much better with that.
Absolutely. That was very poor considering the build up.
Poor form, Leo, poor form.
Messi pulled a Ferdy.

I think if Spurs ever rolled out a Ferdinand/Gallas back line I might just explode.
Full credit to Madrid since the red.
That was…meh
Barca complaining to the ref after full time?!!?? WHaaa!!??
1-1 between Philly and Seattle as well. Seattle equalizer in stoppage time.
Alberto Callaspo of the Angels is wearing a snood against the White Sox right now. They’re everywhere!
Dear Arsenal,
Please win tomorrow,
Sincerely,
Everton
Dear Everton,
Roger, wilco.
Sincerely,
Arsenal
2-0 DC already in Toronto. Davies with another goal.
DC UNITED
DC UNITED!
DC UNITED!!
Btw – I’ve gotten used to having to input my name and email every time after refresh, buut the upgrade to remembering my info this afternoon is much appreciated.
Some pretty rough looking attendances today with all the crappy weather on the East Coast today.
@Ryan: Was it you who was having trouble signing into MatchDay Live even though you had already bought it? Because I’m having the same problem–when I sign in it seems like I have to buy it again for the full $59. You’d think they’d try to make it easier to follow MLS.
@Goat: Yeah, I ran into that issue on Wednesday night. For me it was as simple a fix as entering my username properly (I had forgotten a 1 at the end of it). But I agree, it seems like they could have told me that my username was wrong, instead of taking me to a screen with my saved credit card info and making it look like I needed to buy it again.
@Ryan: Thanks–that was my problem, too. Stupid fucking MLS website.
@ Ryan, Goat: Did that earlier tonight, but didn’t have the same problems you guys had. Main problem–the DCU match being blocked, thus watching Van v Chivas.
Wow, nearly 21K at Vancouver. Didn’t realize they had that many packed in there.
3 nil United. Pontius with a brace and Benny is the man.
Poor decision by the ref in the Sporting/Columbus match; should have allowed advantage to Crew, Gaven in on goal, rather than award the free kick at midfield.
Could someone please give Davies a break, I think he deserves one
Wow, Sporting ref apparently has had enough. Cesar awarded a yellow for a handball, then when he got up to protest, ref waved the red.
Ooh, interesting red card for SKC. KC guy falls over and touches the ball while going down, gets yellow. I think it looked a lot more intentional live than on replay.
@OM: It was confusing the way the whole situation played out, but the first yellow actually came about 20 minutes earlier.
@ Ryan: Ah, thanks. Flipped from the Vancouver match, missed the early one. The announcers were talking about some other controversial decisions by the ref, thought maybe he’d had enough of being jawed at.
Yeah, I had just flipped over to it as well, confused me too.
Henry finally gets a goal for NY. I only caught the tail end of his celebration, but it looked pretty angry. Lots of f bombs being dropped.
@ Ryan: yeah, watched a bit of that 1st half, he had a shot go out for a goal kick, dropped an F bomb loud enough to be heard on the audio. My wife was nearby and said, “Did he just say…” I said “Yes, and if he was in the English league, he’ll be suspended next week.”
Watching the replay of the Everton game, and my previous theory that Gueye is really pretty good looks to be on the way to confirmation.
@WNF, agreed but he definitely needs to be brought along slowly, at least in the beginning of next season. He still has a few problems with reading the speed of the game and holding the ball to long, but if he can play quicker he will be good to go for the future
