Bootroom: Can Arsenal Can Salvage Some Dignity Edition?

Spurs grasp on Champions League play.

Arsenal is all but out of the title race this year having wasted numerous opportunities to stay in the hunt, however, the Gunners can still have a say in who will win the title this year.  With Chelsea only three points back of Manchester United in the table Arsenal can put the title into a toss up with a win.  TSE is also having a sleepover at James T’s where I am sure there was plenty of tossing of salads.  What? They are vegetarians.

The question is whether Arsenal can show the fortitude that it has lacked over the last two months.  Can the squad stand up to United and take the fight to them?

It seems Arsenal is great when the pressure is low but folds like a fat man’s belly over his belt if there is anything riding on the match.  The team lacks the toughness to maintain a lead or claw itself back into the match.  Two things Manchester United has been able to do for years, particularly this year.

My money is on Arsenal throwing a wrench into United’s 19th league title.  3-1.

Other matches:

Liverpool v. Newcastle – Andy Carroll’s return to the Tyneside and Liverpool can draw level on points with Spurs for fifth place witha  victory.

West Ham v. Manchester City – The other Manchester club can put a tighter grip on the final champions league spot with a victory.

There are many others but it’s late.

    I’m so confused. Which bootroom?

  2. I believe the sole purpose of this one is to show the top picture.

For a few hours tonight, we are ONE again. Soon we’ll forget, and we’ll bicker because that’s what democracy is, and what it should be. But for now, some small measure of justice is done, and all differences aside, we can see what makes this country the fulcrum of history in the last century. Never forget, never remember. Bush kills babies, Obama’s a foreigner. For now, we lay it all down and remember that it’s our shared experience, our unbreakable and undeniable connection to our neighbors that makes us one. One nation, under god, INDIVISIBLE, with liberty and JUSTICE for all. Much love to all of you.

Osama Bin Laden was an Arsenal fan. Fact.

And Hitler was a vegetarian. What the f*ck is your point?

  7. MountainWag

@TNO – my consolation with that has always been that I’m sure strict orders came from above never to ‘terrorize’ any Arsenal games or AFC-related events. It’s one large-scale public sporting venue that was guaranteed safety. His fan status was not a bad thing from that angle.

@berg: That Arsenal fans and vegetarians are terrible, terrible people that the rest of the planet would happily be rid of.

  9. Tno

    @Berg
Just a bit of a joke. I had no idea Hitler was a vegetarian. Learn something everyday and all that.

Tno – no worries. Tongue in cheek. Mostly I just wanted to incite a response like MP’s.

  11. MP

@berg: More than happy to oblige.

  12. *sigh*
    MP hates me.
