Some difficulties in a sea of crisis.

The return of TFA MSPaint commentary in all its glory.

It ain't working.

As Moonshine Mike pointed out mockingly after I sent this to the email thread, “Laywers are masters of MS-Paint.”  Indeed. I probably spent more time looking for the photograph than doing my “editorial” work.

The point is, however, that Sepp Blatter thinks FIFA is only facing some difficulties at the moment, not a crisis.  Quoth the Mad Blatherer:

“Crisis, what is a crisis? … Football is not in a crisis. When you see the final of the Champions League then you must applaud. So we are not in a crisis, we are only in some difficulties … the difficulties will be solved inside our family.”

It seems Blatter is blind to the constant barrage of corruption charges and suspensions that are inundating FIFA currently. Four Executive Committee members suspended on bribery and corruption charges. A General Secretary claiming Qatar bought World Cup 2022. A steady drip of new information coming out about other improprieties involving ExCo members past and current. Each one has gaining more credibility with admissions, suspensions and the like.

It’s a death by a thousand cuts rather than a swift drop of the guillotine.

The fact remains that this was all done under his watch as the supreme ruler of FIFA. These are his “little devils” doing so much damage to his organization.

You are going to need a bigger bucket, Sepp.

  1. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate if the ship in the photo was the Titanic?

  2. Nah. FIFA is small fish in the grand scheme, IMHO.

Again, I direct the attention of our country’s fine citizens to the words of Dave Barry. We must form the Department of Two Guys Named Vito. Then we must say to the Vitoes, “Vitoes, I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen to Sepp.” Then the problem would be fixed — for the entire wuurld.

I wish Blatter’s logic regarding the lack of a crisis applied to NCAA football, too.

Rest assured, Sunil is monitoring the situation.

And now Paul Kelso of the Telegraph tweets that Blazer has been fired. That will teach him!
