Friday Backpasses: Klinsomatic

Ride The Snake

You know, that Likely Lad has gotten a lot of mileage on the blog this week. For better or worse, we’ll let you be the judge. The other day, he re-popularized the word “Klinsmannschaft” to describe a US team now coached by its German master.

Granted, the word was used as a label for the German national team he led to the semifinals of the 2006 World Cup, but most of the articles that referenced it were in German.

The Lad might read German along with his myriad nefarious talents. I’ve not a clue.

Then, Precious Roy used it when revealing Klinsy’s first US roster and now, Klinsmannschaft had snuck into the latest Grantland piece on the US/Mexico rivalry from Run of Play’s Brian Phillips. So, to cap off the week, a few links relating to the Klinsmannschaft.

Might as well do it now, as by next week, it will have jumped the shark. Enjoy your 5 minutes of fame Lad, since Sugar Ray stole the other 10.
